ABOUT US This activity is the culmination of a journey rooted in my family history. Life always brings great changes, but when I think about the past, present, and future, the sea remains a common thread for me, a constant presence, a necessity. My name is Peppe, and this excursion project was born from my great passion for the marine world. I built a new gozzo boat to best navigate this stretch of the Adriatic Sea off Salento, on the stunning eastern coast. This area is part of the "Otranto-Santa Maria di Leuca and Tricase Forest Natural Park," a unique natural heritage site of the highest environmental and cultural value. The Protected Area extends almost exclusively along the coastal perimeter and features a variety of environments, including pine forests, Mediterranean scrub with Kermes oak and other sclerophyllous species, holm oak forests, ancient pastures, and cliffs and crags overlooking the sea. Over the millennia, the karst and erosive phenomena typical of the area have created numerous coastal caves, some of which are semi-submerged, which represent a precious habitat for many animal species and are of great geomorphological interest. Furthermore, the presence of the Mediterranean monk seal, Europe's rarest mammal, has been recorded in this area even in recent years. I see it as a mission to host people aboard my boat, to whom I can share stories and anecdotes, reviving the emotions of life at sea. Casting off the moorings and immediately establishing a close bond with my guests lays the foundation for fully enjoying this experience. Incredible coves, clear and transparent water ranging from cobalt blue to emerald green and turquoise. Snorkeling with equipment provided on board, diving, and visits to well-known and lesser-known caves, so hidden that you'll be fascinated by their discovery. And then, after all that wonder and fun, anchor in some wonderful cove, enjoying an excellent aperitif with authentic local products, all washed down with an inviting glass of local wine. What better way to end a day at sea? The Boat The boat from Cantiere F.lli Mileo is a classic Mediterranean fiberglass gozzo, 7.80 meters long with a swimming platform. It can accommodate up to 11 people plus crew. The Iroko and mahogany finishes lend it a timeless elegance. The cockpit offers comfortable seating, while the latter boasts a large sundeck. Optional extras include a sun awning, a swim platform with a swim ladder, and an onboard shower. Equipped with a stereo, GPS/depth sounder, and a 140 HP diesel engine, it's ready for sea adventures. An emergency toilet is available if needed.
