BWA 550 – 40 HP (Maximum capacity 4 people) Compact and easy to handle, the BWA 550 is the ideal dinghy for those who want to explore the wonders of the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area in complete freedom: Engine: 40 HP—drivable without a license, with low consumption and enough thrust to cover the entire coast. Comfort on board: large bow sundeck with cushions and ergonomic driving seat. Equipment included: awning to protect you from the sun and fresh water shower for a quick rinse after swimming. Reduced draft: allows you to approach shallow coves and beaches without problems. With just 5.5 meters in length and its pronounced V-shaped hull, the BWA 550 combines stability and agility: perfect for small groups or families of up to four people who want a day of relaxation and adventure. Recommended itineraries West side – “Torre delle Stelle” route (about 10 minutes of navigation from the port to the first cove) Cala Pisanu – sandy cove sheltered from the mistral, ideal for the first dive. Porto Sa Ruxi – granite cliffs and clear seabed: excellent light snorkeling. Piscadeddus – crystal clear water, sandy seabed that makes anchoring easy. Cuccureddus – just 10 minutes from the port, perfect for those who want to stay close but avoid the crowds. Campulongu – long protected bay, ideal for lunch on board thanks to the usually calm sea. East side – “Serpentara” route (more varied navigation) Isola dei Cavoli – historic lighthouse and seabed rich in life, unmissable for snorkeling. Cava Usai – small beach nestled between rocks, often not very crowded. Cala Burroni – turquoise waters and perfect scenery for photos. Porto Giunco – the famous “postcard” of Villasimius, with the lagoon of flamingos in the background. Punta Molentis – strip of white sand protected by pink granite rocks. Natural pools of Cala Pira – transparent bodies of water with a view of the island of Serpentara: absolute relaxation and seabeds to explore. Well functioning boat. Good for the price, but definitely some wear and tear. Bimini was missing a line and the boat was hard to drive while it was up. Make sure to ask questions before leaving the dock, as they give you little instructions. Provide you a map which is very helpful. Snorkeling gear is not on the boat as advertised, but rather available at the office for extra money. Overall simple process and great way to explore the area.
The boat has significantly less power than another boat, also with 40 hp, that I rented elsewhere a week earlier (my app only measured a maximum speed of 30 km/h, while the other one measured 40 km/h). Also, the gas tank was significantly smaller, so you can't drive it all day. The owner had contacted me in the meantime and told me that my tank was almost empty (he can see this via GPS). It was also annoying that we had to drive to the gas station afterward... the other rental company had handled this more elegantly and simply read and calculated the fuel consumption... Everyone was very nice, but the boat wasn't that great.

Everything was very accurate and well explained. The area we sailed is incredibly beautiful. We will definitely be back with them on future visits to southern Sardinia.
