When is the best time to go to Sirmione?

As Sirmione is located in the north of Italy, we highly recommend visiting this cute town between May and September. During this period, sunshine is guaranteed and temperatures will be warm enough to take a dip in the clear waters of Lake Garda. July and August are the busiest months of the year, but this still doesn’t mean that you cannot enjoy the tranquil and laid-back vibe of Sirmione nonetheless.

What is there to see in Sirmione?

Located on a peninsula on Lake Garda, Sirmione is one of the most magical towns in the North of Italy. The town has plenty to see, including a 13th-century castle. But what makes Sirmione so special is that it serves as a gateway to the mighty Lake Garda, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We have compiled a list of some of the best things to do with your yacht charter from Sirmione:

  • Sail to the neighbouring town of Moniga del Garda, known for its labyrinth-like vineyards and historical buildings. The oldest part of the town is a castle which dates back to the 9th century. From your boat, you will be able to get a breathtaking view of the castle. Moniga del Garda is located straight across from Bardolino and Lazise, two other villages which are highly worth the visit with your yacht charter from Sirmione.
  • Speaking of villages, there are plenty to visit near Sirmione. Almost all the villages around Lake Garda have a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages and no trip would be complete without sailing to them. During your boating holiday on Lake Garda, you can admire castles, Roman villas, ancient churches, city walls and much more!
  • Whether you are travelling with your friends, your family or your other half, your boat hire in Sirmione will be one to remember. What makes Lake Garda so unique is that it provides a wide variety of experiences. To the north of the lake, there are imposing mountains, while to the south the terrain is flatter and is home to several picturesque villages. Of course, the best way to spend your holiday is to hire a boat in Sirmione and discover all the most beautiful places along the coastline.
  • For those who love sports, there is also the possibility to do activities in and out of the water: kitesurfing, water skiing, windsurfing, snorkelling but also horse riding, trekking, climbing and cycling. For those with energy, there is always something to do!

Sirmione is an amazing place to visit and Lake Garda is absolutely beautiful. There are so many sites to see from one spot, easy to get to as well. We will certainly be telling friends all about it and would definitely come again. Even in April the weather was so lovely.
