What is there to see in San Pedro del Pinatar?

The town of San Pedro del Pinatar in Murcia is located within close proximity to some of Spain’s most diverse coastal landscapes and there’s no better way to admire it than by boat. • Take a dip in the mighty Mar Menor, Spain’s largest saltwater lagoon. The lagoon is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by La Manga (“the sleeve”), a 14-mile-long sandbar which is home to plenty of complexes, restaurants and bars. The Mar Menor has five islands to visit and has earned a reputation for being one of the best places in the world for water sports. This is thanks to the high levels of salinity in the lagoon which make it a perfect place to float.
  • Wander through the cobblestone streets of Cartagena, a city which can trace its history back to the Roman era. Cartagena is home to many sights, including a Roman amphitheatre, a medieval castle on a hill, sublime palaces and more.
  • Cruise along the Murcian coast towards the southern frontier with Andalucia. In this region, you can admire a rugged, undeveloped coastline with plenty of coves and unique rock formations.

What is the best time to go to San Pedro del Pinatar?

With over 300 days of sunshine per year, San Pedro del Pinatar is a fantastic place to visit all year round for a boat hire. Nevertheless, if you wish to also swim in the crystal-clear waters which surround the town or try one of the many water sports on offer, you may want to consider hiring a boat between April and November. During this period, the weather is warm enough to enjoy the variety of activities. July and August are the busiest months of the year to visit and are also the hottest. If you wish to escape the crowds and fully immerse yourself in the local Murcian culture, we recommend visiting between April and June or September and November.

Nice harbour with a number of restaurants and little shops. Finding the boat was easy and made for a great place to visit. There are a number of other small harbours to visit up and down the coast. The town itself is a small car ride away from the harbour.
