A nice boat, with good and bad points... Communication: Communication with Bertrand, the owner, is very good. Someone takes care of managing the boat. Very friendly and available, but communication between three people quickly becomes complicated, and it's difficult to know who to contact for what. The toilets: They must have been temperamental; it turned out they were out of order. This seems recurrent (permanent?) given the other reviews. Access to the boater's restrooms is a few minutes' walk away. The restrooms are clean, but access with a single badge (same for the pontoon) requires organization. Condition of the boat: Leaks come from the handrails when it rains. Given the condition of the mattress cover and the attachment points, the problem doesn't seem to be recent. Aside from that, the boat is very clean but a bit messy. It's a shame. Adding your own mess complicates things. No refrigerator. An electric cooler is a substitute. I didn't get the impression it worked. Navigation: The 6hp outboard motor is not practical to use. Possibly with two people, weather permitting. It's difficult to maneuver, not powerful enough (and this seems to be intentional), and difficult to launch and refloat. I didn't try the sails. Affordable price, or not, depending on each person's expectations and skills.
Top location in the heart of Cap d’Agde.
Outing with 25-30 knots of tramontagne, safe and seaworthy boat. In its original state, it would be necessary to review the hardware which is not optimal, provide a 2nd reef, revise the jib.
We spent a pleasant day aboard the sailboat. The sailboat deserves a little overhaul to get back on a good footing, but given the price, it's still normal. The deck at the foot of the mast (under the boom and forward) sags under the weight so avoid walking there. The hull was not clean, I scraped the rudder to be more maneuverable. The HB motor runs well. Thanks to Bertrand for being present by video to answer my questions.
Old sailboat but properly maintained, very pleasant for a day trip. The blade works well and provides very pleasant sensations. The arrival in autonomy, certe practice obliges to pass behind the fence of the door of the quay. (Which may not be easy for everyone.) However, although I understand the economic interest in replacing an inboard engine with an outboard. This is really inconvenient for maneuvers. Having to lean overboard to accelerate forward or backward and especially to start it. Not to mention that he was particularly capricious during my rental. Half an hour of struggling to get a stable idle, and despite having let it warm up for 5 more minutes. It stalled before I could even leave the place. And he will stall 3 more times during the maneuver, fortunately there was not too much wind.
Alright
Another big thank you to Bertrand when we arrived to rent the boat someone was there to explain all the details to us.
The boat fulfilled its role well for a night on board and a great day's sailing. The materials and equipment are there. You have to read the instructions carefully so as not to waste time and everything is fine. Good telephone presence from Bertrand.
Very good contact with the person who ensures the arrival and the return. He even picked us up at Agde station. He is very proficient in navigation. The owner is also very accommodating: very bad sea conditions, we were able to postpone for a week without difficulty. He is also responsive to questions about the boat during navigation. Regarding the material Boat a bit old. The external compass would have to be replaced, as well as the vhf. The outboard motor is difficult to access, it takes 2 people to operate it, and its power is limited in bad weather conditions. In addition, the price is lower than the market, which compensates for these few defects. The sails are ok
We had a very good weekend on the boat, the navigation is comfortable, and all the equipment is there for coastal navigation. The outboard motor is not the most comfortable to handle, but it remains functional.
Belly boat for its size so comfort on board Ideal for going out to sea with the family during the day. Functional. Fair value for money.
The owner should specify that he does not ensure the rental, and not the maintenance of his boat ...
We really appreciated being able to take advantage of this boat for a day trip. Although we only used the staysail and the mainsail with a reef, I noticed that it was very well endowed with sail. Thanks to Bertrand for his text messages when we needed information.
You have to take into account that this is an old sailboat. With all these flaws. However, it does very well for small rentals. Safety, sails, everything is present on this side. The hull needs cleaning. The anchor chain is very rusty ... not usable beyond about 10m. VHF non-functional, no dinghy as advertised. Outboard motor (the inboard has been removed) not practical at all; it starts nickel but is very badly placed and is capricious. You need a teammate just for the engine. Another is at the helm. It's the best. Bertrand, the owner and Nicolas in the management are responsive. Moreover, the passage of the mechanic is already planned after our passage. In short, the quality is at the level of the price. That is to say very accessible; and for that we do not complain! We were able to sail and that’s all we asked for.
Very clean sailboat. WC condemned. Boat engine replaced (apparently temporarily) by an outboard motor making difficult maneuvers difficult. Very warm welcome from the couple who take care of the boat.
The boat's toilet is out of order. There is no refrigerator. But an electric cooler that is effective as a cooler, but not as a refrigerator. There is no sheet or blanket but fabrics, a duvet, sleeping bags. The mattresses are in good condition. There are curtains but which are, as is often the case on sailboats of this type, moderately effective. There is no swim ladder. The sails allow, in my opinion, to navigate in all weathers. The dishes are complete and new I will gladly re-rent the sailboat.
