Unless it receives the maintenance it needs, Hinitsa is not suitable for charter operations. In retrospect we should have asked for a full refund soon after arriving and cancelled the holiday, but the problems weren't apparent until a few days in. The CQR anchor and windlass do not work properly, both need serious babying. The spray hood cannot be raised without releasing the bimini. The cockpit table is useless. The mainsail furler caused enough problems that we were inclined not to use it. There were multiple other smaller issues around the boat for example the fridge, no fans, instruments not working etc. In the end, we were forced to pay multiple costs for 'damages', which frankly was a bit insulting (especially for a flat fender, which was already damaged before we stepped on the boat). Still, Panos and George were very helpful and decent, but if I had a go around, I would have plugged for a more expensive rental boat. Im not sure I would book via Click&Boat either, since its very unclear how you would get a refund. If you pay a lot of money and then arrive for a two week holiday and the boat is not up to scratch, what are you supposed to do? Fly home? There is no provision for this.
We had a good time on Hinitsa ! Conform to the description and very good and easy communication with Panos and George. We were happy of our week in Corfu !
Serious professionals who honor tourist sailing with professionalism. hinitsa offered us 15 wonderful and safe days of holidays in the Ionian. even though our rental took place at the end of the season, our I/F was in very good condition and Panos himself was there for us whenever we needed him. If we go up Ionio again it will be the first offer we will get.
Good boat and good service the renter is very professional and helpful. The very welcome thing to find out who speaks Italian.
