Description of Johan's sailboat
Sailboat Bavaria 39 Cruiser 12m
Rent our Bavaria 39 for your upcoming sailing holiday in Stockholm archipelago. The boat is based in Gustavsberg 20 km east of Stockholm. From here you have a good access out to the archipelago and the vast range of islets and various nature environments. In summer time the archipelago blooms and sailors from all over Stockholm set sail to get the best out of it. About the boat: A near fully equipped sailboat. Popular model with long kitchen and owners cabin in the bow with private bathroom. Large and spacious for up to 6 adults (no bed in the salon, children can sleep in the sofa). Lots of equipment for a comfortable holiday in one of the world's most beautiful archipelagos. Shallow keel of 1.85 m, allows the boat to enter almost every bay. Stern anchor with electric winch, and bow thruster for easier anchorage. Because it is easy to moor to islands we don't need any dinghy. Easy to handle the sails with roller mast and a rolling and self tacking fock, both can be rolled out to desired size. Engine serviced by authorized company. In July to mid August only weekly, sunday to sunday. The rest of the season also preferred sunday to sunday. Requirements: In order to rent the boat we require responsible sailors (30-70 years old) with proof of nautical skills. No pets or smoking allowed. Sailing is allowed only on Swedish territorial waters excluding Gotland. Fuel cost 10 Eur/h Duvets and pillows are included. Bring your own sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers (beddings). It is possible to rent beddings for 25 Eur/person. Cleaning is usually done by the renter. It is possible to buy cleaning service for 150 Eur (for a weekly rental or shorter). 6 life jackets are included (regular, not inflatable). Please send a request with the dates you are interested in, and how many you will be in your crew.

Overall rating
Good trip and all worked pretty well but upholstered areas need steam cleaning and duvets and pillows need laundering. Fuel gauge and wind speed indicator not working.
Early June. I do not recommend this charter. The boat was not fully functional - the log and anemometer did not work. The VHF radio could not be turned on. The indicators for filling the waste tanks started to light up after one day - either they were broken or we received a boat with unemptied tanks. The sails were new, but it was very difficult to put them up and down in the wind, you had to use a lot of force. As for safety, there was a complete lack of equipment: no life raft or EPIRB, and worst of all, there are no inflatable life jackets. I asked earlier to rent some, the owners provided normal life jackets, which may be good for kayaking, but not at sea. The boat was not very clean, which we did not pay attention to, and which turned out to be important when returning it. We chose the option to clean the boat ourselves and we cleaned up after ourselves. It turned out that the owners treated us like a hired cleaning crew and pointed out dirt in every nook and cranny, including the greasy dirt under the oven. Of course, we had to pay an additional 120 euros for cleaning. Another additional cost is the fuel bill per hour of engine operation. It comes out to be 3 to 4 times more expensive than we would normally refuel. And gas stations are available everywhere. It's probably about ripping off the customer, just like with cleaning. On the plus side, I will add that apart from the shortcomings mentioned, the boat performed well. Despite this, I will not rent a boat from them again and I do not recommend them to others. Unless you conduct a detailed inspection of the boat and establish a fee per liter of fuel. Miłosz
Myself and my friends had a very nice time sailing the Stockholm archipelago aboard the sailboat Lilla Blå. The boat is in perfect condition, well maintained and everything we needed, we found on board. The check-in and out process was very smooth and overall communication with Johan was a pleasure. Thanks again.
Boat was perfect and in good condition . New gps with a split screen that is very useful for the archipelago . Owners very helpful.
The boat is very well maintained, feels almost new. Everything works as it should and I have no complaints. The self-tacking jib will spoil my next rental as it makes sailing so very comfortable...
We enjoyed very much our trip in Stockholm archipelago. The boat was Ok except a small problem on the anchor windlass that we have indicated to the owner.
Nice Charter
Very good Service. All best.
Thanks a lot Johan, was a very nice day trip with your ship! 🙌🏻
We had a nice week in the Stockholm archipelago with Lilla Blå. The boat was comfortable and in a very good condition. Thank you Johan for supporting us quickly for any issue we had.
We have spent a nice extended weekend in the Stockholm archipelago. Lilla Blå is a very well-equipped, well-maintained, and comfortable boat. Johan was very helpful and even able to organize some life jackets for us on very short notice.
We had a great weekend with a great boat. It was easy to handle and well maintained.
Good comfortable boat and johan was reliable and helpful. The onboard almanac of suitable anchorages was extremely useful
"Lilla Bla" is an ideal boat for sailing in the archipelago because: * 4 + 2 winches: Main and jib sheets run on their own winches near the helm, + Self-tacking jib = safe sailing even in tricky passages with just one person * Bow and stern anchors, sufficiently long lines (shore mooring) * Bow and stern ladder * Printed nautical charts + navigation system on the helm post * Printed and digital harbor guides * Electric toilet * Auxiliary heating * Furling mainsail with battens, furling headsail with battens With a Bavaria of the millennium generation, you have to accept that there are no digital fuel gauges for water/waste water, no electronic wind indicator/wind meter, AIS, DSC radio, life raft, etc. This boat is for the archipelago, not for an Atlantic crossing :) If you're primarily interested in "sailing" will feel at home. We really enjoyed the week and would rent the boat again.
There should definitely be a notice that engine usage is billed by the hour. This was the first time we had this in the 40 years we have been chartering.
We had a great time, thank you for the positive experience.
