Sailing on Lake Garda was an unforgettable experience that perfectly blended adventure, stunning scenery, and charming lakeside exploration.
Our favorite spot to moor was at Val di Sogno, just a short sail from Malcesine. This tranquil bay was a gem—its buoy mooring was free, and during our stay, it provided excellent protection from the lake’s stronger winds.

We had an incredible experience renting a Farr 750 from GS Charter for a sailing adventure on Lago di Garda. The boat was the perfect size for two people, offering just the right balance of maneuverability and comfort for our multi-day trip. We even camped on board without any issues!
Alessio from GS Charter was fantastic, providing spot-on advice that helped us navigate the lake with confidence. His tips led us to secure a buoy for a couple of nights, which made mooring easy and let us fully enjoy the stunning surroundings. We had an absolute blast whipping around Lake Garda, taking advantage of the reliable winds to sail smoothly. Stopping at various buoys and docks allowed us to explore charming coastal towns like Malcesine and others, adding a perfect mix of sailing and onshore adventures.
I highly recommend GS Charter for anyone looking to explore Lake Garda by sailboat—our trip was unforgettable!

The staff in the marina is very friendly and helpful. They really made us feel very welcome. The boat is agile, but really in it's element when sailing close reach. The boat is a bit basic, and not really equipped for overnight stay, there is no kitchen or fridge. Not that we cared as we had rented it for one day only. After our rental the ship was going in for two day maintenance and that was not too early. One of the sea railing supports had become undone, and half of the little swimming deck planks were missing. Having said that, we had a lot of fun!

We chartered the boat for 3 days bareboat for a company outing. All in all, we've had a great time despite some drawbacks described below, and would recommend GS charter. Thanks to Michele, Luca, Alessio and the team.
Now the details: originally we requested a different boat (a much newer one, advertised at lower price), but it was not available despite being advertised on C&B. We have an Italian speaker on the team, still the communication was not entirely flawless. We were told there would be no linen on the boat, luckily there was linen, but still no towels. We were also surprised by the cheap plastic dishes and the general lack of minor conveniences one is used to on charter boats (cloth pegs, binoculars etc).
The check in and checkout process were very helpful and laid-back, not even using a written checklist - a pleasant change compared to many charter firms' stringent approach.
Technically, the boat was in good condition for its age (sails, motor, hatches all functional without complaints) and well-cleaned. We've been through some heavy rain without any leaks. Weirdly, the starter battery was connected to the same circuit as the service batteries, ofc it got discharged as we were mostly sailing and using the electrical consumers and we had some stress as the motor would not start for docking.
We spent two nights outside the marina, to which the charter firm grindingly agreed (although I understand it is not the general practice on Italian lakes). We also got useful advice on local sailing and mooring conditions. Mooring assistance was great - friendly and approachable.

Highly recommend this boat charter. Communication and organization was perfect, the boat was in great condition. They will even pick you up and bring the boat into the harbor for you. Giacomo was a great skipper. Thank you.
