Yacht charter in Riva del Garda · Beneteau — 33.1 (2006)

We chartered the boat for 3 days bareboat for a company outing. All in all, we've had a great time despite some drawbacks described below, and would recommend GS charter. Thanks to Michele, Luca, Alessio and the team. Now the details: originally we requested a different boat (a much newer one, advertised at lower price), but it was not available despite being advertised on C&B. We have an Italian speaker on the team, still the communication was not entirely flawless. We were told there would be no linen on the boat, luckily there was linen, but still no towels. We were also surprised by the cheap plastic dishes and the general lack of minor conveniences one is used to on charter boats (cloth pegs, binoculars etc). The check in and checkout process were very helpful and laid-back, not even using a written checklist - a pleasant change compared to many charter firms' stringent approach. Technically, the boat was in good condition for its age (sails, motor, hatches all functional without complaints) and well-cleaned. We've been through some heavy rain without any leaks. Weirdly, the starter battery was connected to the same circuit as the service batteries, ofc it got discharged as we were mostly sailing and using the electrical consumers and we had some stress as the motor would not start for docking. We spent two nights outside the marina, to which the charter firm grindingly agreed (although I understand it is not the general practice on Italian lakes). We also got useful advice on local sailing and mooring conditions. Mooring assistance was great - friendly and approachable.
