Yacht charter in La Forêt-Fouesnant · Dufour — 2800 (1981)
Description of Georges's sailboat
Sailboat Dufour 2800 8.7m
***** weekly rental ***** Boat completely renovated in 2024 with - New Yanmar engine after Volvo - New furling genoa and anchor chain - Mainsail and tender, less than 2 years old Completed major refit on June 2nd Hello, I am offering my Dufour 2800 for charter, available on a pontoon in Port la Forêt, a large, modern port offering multiple sailing options. This 1981 boat is perfectly and regularly maintained on site and is therefore in superb condition. It has 5 berths, but is ideal for four. An authentic and solid sailboat, it is ideal for pleasure trips from Baie de la Forêt, between Benodet and Concarneau, opposite the Glenan archipelago. For two days, it's possible to go as far as the Glénan Islands, or even as far as Audierne, Belon for its oysters, or Groix. For a week, I recommend Belle-Île-en-Mer, the Île d'Yeu, or northern Brittany, passing through the Raz de Sein (a nature reserve of seven islands), stopping in Douarnenez, and heading towards Ushant or the Seven Islands. Or even (further afield) aim for Bréhat or the Channel Islands And even the Scilly Islands. The boat has a 2014 asymmetrical spinnaker. It is equipped for offshore use and has everything you need in terms of safety. It offers the basic comforts for a five-person cruise: radio, telephone, GPS, automatic steering, three batteries... I'm also making a new tender available this year. For the handling, if I'm not available, a friend who manages it will take care of welcoming you. Please contact me via my email at Click&Boat and I'll see you soon. Georges

Very pleasant boat; friendly and helpful owner
This boat absolutely does not conform to the description. In no case has it been the subject of a complete renovation as mentioned. On the positive side, the sail plan is correct and the engine is new. The boat is reassuring when sailing. Negative side: absence of weather vane, anemometer present but defective, unusable, some ends are clearly very worn (hawsers), no interior maintenance, the boat is in its juice, mold everywhere, in the dirty glasses (dishes not done), in the so-called refrigerator which is in fact a defective electric cooler (no cold), used lifeline dangerous for the hands and loose, no stick for the tiller, deckhouse hood out of age and service, pierced tender, pierced water reserve with water pump which defuses all the time, pole totally seized and unusable. I'm certainly forgetting 2 or 3 things because the list was very long. I did ask Georges for compensation but he ignored me and he does not take care of the delivery and collection of the boat himself. Boat that I recommend if you like surprises and very rustic. Otherwise absolutely avoid.
From August 3rd to 10th, we rented Georges Dufour 2800. After sailing with this sailboat in different conditions for a week, I can say that the sail plan is healthy with new sails and that the boat performs well in the heavy weather, in a sea formed and good gusts to more than 35 nodes. Unfortunately we were also confronted with various rather negative aspects of the boat, such as a rusty anchor chain with consummate links, the absence of second reef installed, more than 30 liters of water per day that the boat embarks etc, etc. .. We made a list below which was passed on to the owner. In summary, I will only advise this boat to experienced people who know how to navigate well and who can cope with unforeseen difficulties in almost any conditions. Without good experience, these unforeseen difficulties due to these poor maintenance conditions could quickly become dangerous. ____________________________________ The well cover of the anchor was not fixed. The installed screws did not hold. The anchor chain is rusty and many links are consumed more than half. For sailing, the second reef bump is not installed and the reef bats are missing on the sail. It is missing two, see three hawsers. The one (unique) on board is too short and heavily worn. The emergency buoy is not secure and its light does not work. No electric torch on board works. Absence of seals on board. Absence of jerrycan water and especially no jerry can reserve diesel. The electric cable for connection to the pontoon malfunction. The sonar, loch and electronic speedo do not work. Absence on board of hand probe. Absence of foghorn hand. Lack of bats. The ammeter for charging the batteries does not work. The Health First Aid Kit contains outdated or unusable equipment in general. The boat has 30 to 50 liters of water per day (gland?). The last visible date of fire extinguisher inspection visit is 1997. _____________________________
We had a good time on this dufour 2800 with our 3 children. In order to be more honest, I will say that this rental has an acceptable quality / price ratio. The +: New Annex Electronic equipment The welcome and availability of Georges Boat coherent, no surprises The - Lack of general maintenance Pulley / end tired Oxidized anchor chain (following the old comments, I had brought back my chain, I was able to sleep at anchor with my children in roads serenity) Cleanliness a goodbye
It's easy to understand that Sterwenn and George have traveled many miles together. After, it remains only to be guided by this sum of fusional experiences to enjoy a truly exceptional navigation site. The boat was just coming out of the fairing, and the few small preparation gaps on board were largely offset by the approval of a reactive hull en route, and in the maneuvers. The boat was pleasant to lead under the 15/25 knots of wind of this exit for which we also thank the weather, and in the end, there will remain only beautiful images and good sensations. Can not wait for next time !
Big depress to leave this sailboat, to use as a vintage car. Georges will be someone who will teach you a lot of things, to go out with you at the reception of the grement and provide him an aperitif to return!
We rented this boat for 6 days, mainly based on the comments of the site. The result is very disappointing. The boat was not clean when we arrived and we encountered a number of problems: - installation of the gas stove not up to standard (the gas bottle is in the cabin) - emergency lights out of date since 2009 !!! Georges the owner explained to us that the gendarmerie would have told him that the VHF is enough, it is all the same a security element obligatory and which can always serve. - Anchor chain in a pitiful state and which does not encourage anchoring - sails worn notament the jib whose anti-UV band is torn and caught in the shrouds at the first tack In general, we have managed to overcome these inconveniences and the boat is sailing well but certainly deserves more maintenance. Georges, whom we only saw on our return, explained to us that he had rented his boat because the place de port is expensive, but we are not there to pay for it, we also want to sail on and with quality equipment, especially when we pay ... He also told us that we were the 2nd tenants, so I am really surprised at the number of comments (5) on the site that we are misled. This is a rental and not a loan to someone from the family, in which case the condition would be acceptable. So for us, the price-quality ratio is not up to par, even if we still managed to enjoy our navigation.
A shame this boat which in no case should be able to be rented. Security level: dangerous because it does not comply with the mooring, the totally HS gas installation, the lights, etc. The owner had promised us a fairy tale for eating cold all week. we never received it.
Georges welcomed us very well to take control of his boat. Dufour well maintained and perfect navigation without problem. Engine starting at quarter turn. Sails in very good condition. The boat is very well equipped for a dream holiday. Super convenient fridge, deck shower, aft platform, driver at the top very nice. Idyllic setting for this wonderful week with two young children. I highly recommend Georges and his experience !! See you soon and good wind on sterwenn!
Georges' boat is very pleasant to sail to 4 people on board, the equipment is very complete, especially the electronic equipment which is very powerful and complete, Georges is a solitary navigator, welcoming, open and accommodating. I will renew this experience without any reservation. joël
Very good value for money. The boat is not very young for sure but it is very good sea. Boat in good condition overall and well equipped, efficient engine. Small engine problem in the middle of the stay but quickly repaired. Owner available by phone for any questions. It would be interesting, however, to write a boat user's manual with the main information on how to navigate the boat and the location of the various elements useful for navigation.
Super week spent aboard Sterwenn! Glénan, Groix, Guidel, Sainte Marine and Baie de Concarneau on the program. Thank you Georges :)
Sailboat in a state remarkable for its age. Well equipped and very easy to handle. the sails are almost new and perfect for a cruise. Georges is a welcoming person who will guide you in your adventure .....
