Overall rating
The boat is well maintained and generously equipped for a vessel of this length; fast when using the engine, a bit less when sailing due to a very small jib (which is perfectly fine for cruising). We had a small issue with the mainsail, but Takis and his team responded promptly, and the problem was resolved within a few hours. We suggested equipping the boat with a knife suitable for cutting lines in case of emergency. Overall, a thoroughly positive experience!"
It was a great experience I absolutely recommend ; )
The Trizonia boat was a dream! We loved sailing it between the beautiful Ionian islands, anchoring or mooring in different places every day. The boat was in a good shape, perfectly equipped with everything we needed for a week’s sailing. Takis and his team are highly professional and it was a real pleasure to get to know them. Prior to the trip Takis answered all our questions and the check-in and check-out were perfect.
Takis and the crew did a very good job. We had a little problem with the ancor, but they resolved very well! Thank you very much…see you next time
The Beneteau 31 is clean, everything works perfectly and it is very easy and fun to sail
Initially, I made a reservation for a BENETEAU — OCEANIS 34 (2010). However, during the check-in, I realized that the auto-pilot was missing, and since it was a double-handed charting week, it was uncomfortable and dangerous to proceed with that (the forecast was for up to 6bf and hoisting or dropping the main with lazy-jack on such conditions, with two persons, is dangerous, without auto-pilot helming the boat on the weather). I've communicated my issue with Costas and Click&Boat and they kindly provided me with another option, the Bavaria 49.7 (2005). While it is big for double-handed, it had all the features I wanted and I accepted the offer. They quickly arranged the paperwork and I was able to leave the port on Sunday 15.00 (my planned goal was to leave on Saturday 19.00). In general, the boat is in good condition (for a 2005 boat) with an updated inventory list. The boat has a very good auto-pilot (arm on helm's neck), powerfull anchor motor, furling jenoa and main (easy to reef), and excellent conditions of both sails. Also, it is spacious with 5 births, 2 fridges, 3 WCs, and nice open space in the helms area. Also, the underwater condition of the boat was decent. However, very soon after my departure from the port, I found paraflu in the engine bilge. I cleaned it, but the next day the same happened. I've never accelerated more than 2300RPM but still, even with a 1-hour engine working, there was paraflu leaking. On the 3rd day, and after continuously checking and cleaning the bilge, I've located the problem on my own - a small pipe acting as relief shall on top of the fridge was loose and resulted in paraflu leaking. Another inconvenient issue with the boat was the significant small main sail. Despite its excellent condition, the main sail is almost the 2nd reef of a sail suited for this boat. Since the boat is big and heavy, one needs more than 14 knots of wind to move with 5 knots speed (assuming full genoa) in the upwind course. In downwind the situation is worse. When communicated it to the owner he said that he had other main sails and he could replace them if I have asked before. So if you really consider sailing in less than 4.5bf ask for a bigger main sail. In general, during the week we rented it, we had 4-6bf and there were not many times that I would have used the full main. But on the return journey, we had 50miles with 3-4bf in close downwind course and that resulted in 3-4kn speed, thus we had to use the engine in perfect sailing conditions. In the middle of the return journey, after the engine had worked 5h, an alarm from the Volvo Penta sounded, and one led on the engine panel was flashing. The labels of the leds were unstuck, so we found the manual online and we understood that there was an issue with the alternator. We have discussed it with the owner and he confirmed that we can continue our journey (but with continuing alarm on). However the owner said that he will fix this and an engineer was on the port to check it. Also, the stopper of the outhull of the main sail was broken and the main winch had to constantly hold the outhull. Since there is only one winch at the boom's middle, we had to trim the main with our hands. In fresh breeze (>17kn), when it was impossible to trim on hands, we had to bring the main sheet to the back winches (at the level of helms), but this created an inconvenient/dangerous lengthy stretched sheet line, which especially on the tacks was a problem. Other than that, we had a fantastic week. We anchored in Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonisos, two times in ports, three in bays. Amazing landscape, sea, people, food. Excellent wind conditions that allowed us to sail 4-6h per day on full sails. The boat offered great accommodation and sailing experiences to us. On our way back, the dolphins confirmed that. Communication with Costas was excellent and we'll gladly rent again from him. Sporades are highly recommended and Achileion is a nice and calm village/port to start your journey!
Great boat and clear agreements. It was nice that there was flexibility with check-in and check-out. Enjoyed beautiful Greece immensely.
We weren't able to meet Takis in person, but the organization of check-in and check-out was of high quality and Takis is very available and will gladly give you precise and friendly information. I recommend without hesitation! quality boat, well thought out, nothing was missing!
