Unfortunately, a disappointing experience – not a real sailing holiday We booked a catamaran including skipper (Fred) for our honeymoon through Click&Boat – a special experience we wanted to share with six friends. The trip wasn't cheap, and our idea was clear: a five-day sailing holiday around Sardinia, from Olbia to La Maddalena. Unfortunately, the reality didn't live up to our expectations. Right from the start, we had to take a taxi from Olbia to San Teodoro due to unfavorable wind conditions – understandable when safety comes first. However, this pattern continued: In five days, we only covered very short distances (San Teodoro – San Paolo – Olbia – Golfo Aranci, then a taxi back to the airport). In Olbia, we had to spend almost two days in the harbor because it was too windy and impossible to leave. Other sailboats left the harbor as usual! Fred seemed very insecure when "sailing," or driving, or parking! On most days, we moored in bays for hours while Fred either slept or refused to sail, even though there were many sailboats out there. In fact, we only had the sails up for one hour in five days – the rest of the time we motored exclusively. We understand that wind and weather can influence the itinerary, but we would have appreciated significantly more initiative and sailing experience from the skipper. It was also particularly disappointing that the water sports listed on Fred's profile (wakeboarding, tubing, kiteboarding, etc.) were supposedly either for children only or private – none of them were available, even though that was one of the reasons we had chosen them. On the last day, according to the plan, we had seven hours left, but again we were told that sailing was no longer possible – we were anchored in Golfo Aranci Bay again. Overall, unfortunately, we didn't have the experience we had booked and expected: an active sailing holiday. The crew was motivated and full of anticipation - but now the disappointment is even greater.
