I hired a dufour 35 gl in Olbia at the Dream yacht charter. The boat immediately appeared poorly cleaned and cared for (for example: hair in the refrigerator, the lamp in the cockpit table was missing, which despite insistent requests was not given to me, as a replacement I was given a row of solar Christmas lights not working, the black water drain pipe leaked foul-smelling liquid on the floor of a cabin, water tank completely empty at the moment of departure and which I managed to fill, the engine with evident oozing, tender engine cover unstable due to broken fixings). Having said that, my holiday week was interrupted on the third day due to the starter motor that suddenly stopped working, despite the timeliness of the intervention of the technicians of the Olbia office who repaired the motor, the next day I had to call them back because the batteries of the services have run out, once again they intervened in a timely manner to my rescue and replaced the batteries making sure that everything worked for the best, the mechanic Stefano very kindly left us his LED lamp that he had in the toolbox. The problems continued, however, because most likely the cause of the failure was not the batteries but the recharging systems of the same, consequently the holiday turned into an uncomfortable situation that lasted until the last day we were there. found without services such as refrigerator, anchor, navigation instruments etc ... despite the technical problems my family and I tried to enjoy the holiday as much as possible. Being a skipper I know how to recognize and deal with the failures that no one can foresee and I know how to recognize when a boat has not been subjected to the necessary checks and maintenance for safe navigation. I am pleased that as compensation for the unpleasant events I obtained a delayed return of 15 hours, which compensated for the expectations of the technicians in the various bays, and a 150 euro discount voucher for the next holiday as a reimbursement of the expenses incurred by me for stop at buoys and ports in the absence of services. In conclusion I feel I can say that my discomfort during this holiday was not caused by the technical staff of the dream yacht charter in Olbia, who did everything to solve the problems, but by the charter company itself which in my opinion does not leave. the material time for the staff to prepare the boats and verify that they can navigate safely.
