THE BOAT is in Portimão. We can sail from there to ponta da piedade caves and porto de mós or Alvor bay, património UNESCO. For Half day (150 euros+150e skipper) in 4 hours we can sail from Marina de Portimão to one of the big Caves and back. We can do the Stand up paddle or kayak in Praia Grande. Also we can visit some caves in Praia do Alemão. I am Sailing instrutor with lots of experience. Sailed from La Rochelle to Monaco and Croatia. For a full day we can go to Alvor bay, world reservation, lunch there, visit praia do Camilo and caves of Lagos or visit the Benagil cave , kayak there and return. It is possible to sail with 8 persons and sleep on board for 6 persons. You can bring drinks and food you need onboard. Included: -gasoleo -vat taxes -sail boat -stand up paddle Not included: -Skipper paid on the trip day -Food and drinks. -transfer from peer 5 euros a person paid directly to the ferry. Peer in Ferragudo ahead of restaurant Sueste ( 5 euros a person with return) Marina de Portimão (8 euros a person with return): Cais Vasco da Gama (9 euros a person with return):

We had an absolutely fabulous day out and Jose was great. He planned a lovely itinerary for us, and gave great recommendations of where to go. Would highly recommend!!

We booked for a half day boat tour from Tavira to snorkel with the children. The comms with Jose ahead of the trip were great. But having boarded the boat I was somewhat disappointed- the boat was untidy, with stuff everywhere. I'd been and bought snorkel equipment as he said he only had one set.. He then proceeded to take us just a bit further up the estuary, and let us disembark. Within minutes all including the children (youngest only 7) had disappeared into the distance- taken by a strong current. Jose did 'rescue' them with a paddle board, but I was somewhat shocked that he'd said it was a good place to snorkel. He then took us closer to the shore- but a place we could easily have gotten a taxi boat to, and had to paddle each of us into shore on his paddleboard- to snorkel. Only again to discover the waves the other side of the island were way too big to even enter the water, and there were no fish on the side he'd moored. We cut the trip short as by this point I had no faith, and felt vulnerable based on this decision making. It was a total waste of 3hrs of our holiday and the 250€ we paid (he gave us 50€ discount for cutting the time in half 🥹). And the children were gutted.
Thank you for a wonderful relaxing day on your boat. We loved exploring the caves and gorgeous beaches which we couldn’t access on foot. Lots of fun on the paddle boards. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying locally who want a day at sea. Cheers!
We had an absolutely amazing day on the sailboat with Jose as our skipper. He was incredibly accommodating, super relaxed, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip. Jose took care of everything, so we could just relax and enjoy the ride. The highlight of the day was seeing dolphins up close – truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! We were incredibly lucky. We also explored the stunning caves and cruised all the way to Benagil. I can’t recommend Jose enough – if you’re thinking about booking a trip with him, do it! It’s an unforgettable experience with an awesome skipper.
Jose was wonderful and made the experience worth the price. We didn't have the best weather (out of anyone's control obviously) but he did his best to make sure that we enjoyed our day on the water as much as we could and always made us feel that we were comfortable and safe. I would book him again.
We had a brilliant time on board the boat with the Jose’s! Although we had a seasick passenger Jose did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. His knowledge was incredible and we felt safe the whole time we were on the boat. We sailed to see some caves, had a cruise up the river, and anchored up near the beach to use the kayak and paddleboard. Overall a great experience thank you so much Jose Imogen & Family

José is a great captain! Even though the weather wasn’t the best, he took us to the Benagil caves and 7 Hanging Valleys, found the wind to sail. It was a fantastic sailing trip!

Jose and the boat Azule were amazing. He is very experienced and a great host. He brought us to nice places, close to caves, isolated beaches but also we did a lot of sailing, which was very nice. The boat is well maintained and sails wonderfully. Great value and I can definitely recommend him.

Jose was an excellent host! This is not a luxury sailing yacht, but a well-working 26 foot vessel. If you are looking for a luxury yacht, I’d look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a wonderful and genuine day on a sailboat, this is the best choice. Jose is a sailing instructor so he was happy to allow us to help him do various maneuvers after he learned I sailed back home in Chicago. He is a very relaxed and chill guy, and very happy to accommodate whatever my wife and I wanted to do during our charter. We really wanted to see an algar but instead of going to the overly crowded Benajil, he mentioned a different, MUCH more secluded algar that he knew about. We took him up on that and we were very happy we did. It was beautiful and we will remember that day forever. I would absolutely recommend chartering with Jose!

Kindly captain, explains everything during the trip. He has kayak, paddle and snorkel device. If u are sensitive to motion sickness take medication before! Maybe for 5 persons not enough space to be comfortable. But final experience was great.
Jose is a great guy to sail with - he works hard to ensure that his clients have a good time. I would recommend Jose to anyone who wants a relaxed and enjoyable sailing experience whether you are an experienced sailer or a complete beginner.
We spent a lovely day with Jose. I was with 2 smaller kids 10 and 6. They had a great time too. Boat is comfortable I think up to 4-5 people.

José did a great job and was always in a good mood, with a wealth of knowledge about the Algarve and the sea. The boat is more for a day of adventure than a day of "relaxation" at sea, as there isn't much space to lie down. The boat is well-equipped and we had no problems. I would book again! When we arrived, Jose had already finished preparing the boat. We received a warm welcome. We could store all our gear in the cabin, and then we set off. He suggested several options for our excursion. We sailed to a cave accessible only by water. We snorkeled briefly, and then continued to a quiet bay where the children had a wonderful swim. They all got to try their hand at the helm. All in all, we had a good trip.

Jose sails well, is pleasant and accepts suggestions. As for the boat, the price is excessive for the type of vessel.

With our 2 teenagers, we had a wonderful day aboard José's boat. A very good navigator, José, who participates in regattas, showed us the best landscapes of Lagos from the ocean. We sailed to Alvor (lunch break) and back to Lagos, wonderful times. Paddleboards allow you to extend your discoveries closer to the rocks and beaches. Beautiful memories and laughter.

We traveled for half a day as a family, there were 5 of us, it was really great! Jose is very friendly and pleasant. We enjoyed chatting (Portuguese, English or French) with him throughout the trip! Jose knows the surrounding area very well, he is cultured and will be able to answer your questions and advise you if necessary, he brings a touch of history to each monument/decor that you can see. As for Azule (the boat), it is exactly what is described, we really enjoyed traveling on board :) Honestly, no regrets, it was great, thank you Jose! Book with your eyes closed!

Beautiful day spent on the sailboat. The owner and skipper José is very professional, confident, considerate, letting us maneuver on demand. The coast is beautiful and we docked in an ideal place to swim and use paddle and kayak. We regret not having been able to really sail, for lack of wind. It should also be noted that you have to pay for the ferry taxi to get to the boat (not included in the price of the boat rental). Overall nice experience. We recommend this trip and this boat.
