Makai is a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 2001. She can accommodate 6 guests very comfortably in 3 double cabins with two bathrooms, one of which is ensuite and both have shower facilities. The saloon is both spacious and well equipped, with TV, Galley, Fridge and Cooker. The boat is MCA Coded for Category 2 Waters and has all the necessary safety equipment to ensure a smooth and safe passage. She has three Chart plotters, Radar, Autohelm, Bow thrusters, Windlass, Dinghy and Outboard. Makai is located in Portsmouth and from there has access to a multitude of destinations to suit days out, weekends or a week away. The Isle of Wight is a few hours' sail, with harbours such as Cowes, Bembridge and Yarmouth. I can offer Corporate days out, team-building days, family trips, informal training, weekends away, or, for the longer bookings, trips to Weymouth, Dartmouth or Salcombe - the choice of your itinerary is endless and will be planned according to your desires. Safety is of the utmost importance to me and I shall try to accommodate your wishes to the best of my ability according to safety and weather.

My wife and I booked with Sarah as we wanted to make a decision between a sailing boat or motor boat, so for us it was the perfect experience. Sarah and Mark were wonderful, fun, kind and knowledgable, and despite the cold ( this is October in the solent!!) it was a wonderful day and the sun even came out as we arrived at Gun Wharf Quay for a quick lunch then back to the mooring. Our heartfelt thanks for Sarah and Mark for being great company and for making the day a memorable one for us both. Thankfully the day also confirmed it's going to be a sailing boat in Italy!! The icing on the cake! If you are looking for a great day out...or more... Sarah will deliver for you 110% - David & Anna PS - thoroughly recommend their home made scones and clotted cream too!!!! We will be going out again with them next year once the weather warms up and taking our grandson!
Sarah went above and beyond for me! This was my first time using this app and I had a fantastic experience. We sailed from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight and back and thanks to Sarah had the most lovely day. Sarah was very responsive and helpful in answering questions before the trip, and on the day was also fantastic. I would really recommend the trip and will certainly be looking to do it again!
From start to finish, our day aboard the Sun Odyssey 40 JEANNEAU was exceptional. Sarah was an incredibly professional and welcoming host, communication was smooth, and everything was prepared to the highest standard when we arrived. The boat itself was spotless, spacious, and very well maintained, with every feature working perfectly. We had a full day of smooth sailing in stunning surroundings, and the experience truly exceeded our expectations. It felt both relaxing and luxurious, the perfect way to disconnect and enjoy the sea and sailing. This was without a doubt one of the best charter experiences we’ve had. We (3M 2F, age 30) booked 2 days with Sarah as we wanted to get our first sailboat experience ever, and we loved it! Sarah tailored the experience around our needs with great care, was energetic and really welcoming, we all enjoyed our time with her. We learnt so much about sailing in such a short time, definitely suggested!

We had a fantastic day on the boat celebrating hubby’s 60th birthday. Communication with Sarah was easy and straight forward from start to finish. The day was relaxing, we got involved with the sailing and was also easy for one of the party to sit back and relax and not get involved.. as they choose. We sailed to Osborn House and back. The boat was excellent and Sarah clearly an extremely competent sailer… we were in safe hands. She was great company too. Hubby stated I was the best wife .. and was only with the help of Sarah and my family in making his 60th a wonderfully memorable day. Would highly highly recommend 🥰
We had a fabulous time with Sarah. Hubby and I (plus our daughter), needed to brush up on our skills for another sailing trip; we found her guidance really helpful. Her approach is pretty relaxed, but still attentive. She is extremely welcoming, fun and knowledgable. Thank you for a lovely charter.

Sarah was so lovely. She accomodated me and my friends so well, we couldn’t stop talking about the cruise. She went out of her way to make us(my friend and i ) a birthday cake to celebrate the occasion and she was just a good vibe to be around, very entertaining and knowledgeable about her craft! We booked Sarah's boat for a corporate day out with clients and it couldn't have been better and easier. It was easy to find Sarah and we got the water taxi out to the boat. The boat was in excellent condition with all the facilities you could need. We had a terrific day sailing, and Sarah couldn't have been a better host. We all really enjoyed ourselves. I am planning to book again with family in the near future! Thank you Sarah!!!
We had a wonderful sailing trip for a very personal family experience that Sarah was very kind to cater for. She was extremely warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful day out to the isle of white and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sarah and her boat. Sarah went above and beyond in every aspect - from her wonderful quiche (thanks Sarah!) to providing caring instruction and encouragement to my 2 teenagers who are about to do their Comp Crew. I have been sailing since a child , I hold a commercially endorsed coastal yachtmaster having completed thousands of sea miles including crossing the bay of biscay and sailing the length of the mediterranean, I am in my happy place while at sea.
