Overall we had a nice few days exploring the Amalfi coast on this boat. However, the boat did have many downfalls which would have made any conditions past force 3 not practicable for anchoring or safe passages in conditions where you can navigate by eye. Pros: Rudder worked well, the boat was clean, sheets, haliyards and winches were in decent condition. Tender stayed inflated. Electric toilet worked well. Pick up and drop off was smooth. Fridge worked well. Diesel engine worked consistently. Mediocre: Sails were in mediocre condition. Winch handles could’ve been better. Navigation and anchor lights worked, although there was no stern light. Cons: The gps didn’t work, it didn’t have any charts for the amalfi coast, there was a leak in the bow cabins, couldn’t use the anchor without risking pulling the mast down (the anchor attachment point would flex when under any load), outboard didn’t work. Not possible to light the stove without your own lighter. Railings around the deck were flimsy and not connected at points.

I have sailed the Aeolian Islands twice before and this trip was a disaster!!! The boat, the "Aida" was a terrible boat and poorly maintained!!!! In addition the rental of this boat, thru Click & Boat is terribly misleading!!! The single worst aspect of this boat is the is the inability to sleep.... The cabins are in fine condition however they are hot and little or no ventilation.. All that would be needed to fix this problem are FANS. It is an inexpensive fix but clearly the owner is to cheap to install them. 1 or 2 fans in each sleeping cabin would have solved this problem. And i learned for a fact that other renters of this boat have had the same problem!!!! Just image being on a boat where sleep is nearly impossible. My group had discussed many times about renting hotel room at each of the islands we went to... Ultimately we didn't but the problem was Very severe and so easily solvable!!! It was bad enough that some in our group choose to sleep out side on the deck.. Again this problem is totally solvable with a fans in the cabins. Now lets to get to the other issues..... We rented the boat for 7 days, but this is not the case!!! We departed from Vibo Marina around 6:00pm. You have to return the boat on day 6. And the reason is.... because they want to fill the gas tank back up before the dock gas station closes at 6:00pm. And they need the entire 7th day to check out the entire boat for the next group... So we have to lose a full day because they don't want to fill the gas up on the morning of the 7th day. Because the islands are a full days sail, you have to use the 6th day to get back. So your trip is really 5 days. Although you rent the boat for 7 days. Now we all understand that the boat has to be retuned in time ti chack it out and make it ready for the next group. But returning on the morning of the 7th day is more than enough time to do this. I repeat, i've done this trip twice before and this is how it was done. But not thru Click & Boat and this owner...I noticed that it did in fact show it as a 6 day trip. When I addressed this with Click and Boat and the owner, they corrected the dates and said that in fact it's a 7 day trip. What both Click & Boat and the owner both knew but failed to disclose was that we can stay on the boat after it's been returned on the 6th day... This is incredibly misleading.... The only good thing about returning the boat a day early is that we DID NOT have to sleep on it any longer!!!! Now i understand that you have to bring back the boat early to check everything out and make sure it works properly... But now here is the big Joke, Our boat was riddled with problems... First and for most the bathrooms smelled like a SEWER!! It was the first thing we all noticed before we even left the dock on the first day.. And it continued to smell horribly the entire trip.. Additionally, the toilets often broke down.. Believe it or not we were told that we could not throw the toilet paper down the toilet.. That is absurd!!! i've sailed a lot and have never been told this before.. Of course the Capt. seemed to imply that the toilets broke because we threw our toilet paper in the toilet.. None of us did this!!! Additionally their is toilet paper made to be used on boats if this really is a problem.. But again the owner of the boat is to cheap to supply this... Let move on... Next the refrigerator did not work very well.. and we bought a lot of ice. These type of boat refrigerators open from the top are meant to drain out from the bottom. Of course they didn't drain. So we had to scoop out the bad water every couple of days.. and of course it made much the food we bought spoil as well... Our oven has 2 burners, but only one worked.. This made cooking quite difficult!!! We did it. but it wasn't easy.... Another issue we had was that our Capt seemed to have a 7:00 quitting time. On some days the wind would pick up nicely in the late afternoon/early evening. But our capt alway wanted to anchor by 7:00 Sharp!!! and always used the excuse that if we didn't anchor by 7:00 we wouldn't be able to get a good anchor spot. This turned out to be a lie!!! it was clear that had we continued to sail after 7:00 we could have easily anchored 50-60 meters from where we anchored by not sailing.. keep in mind that at this time of year the sun is still very high in the sky at 7:00. and theirs plenty of sailing time. Our "capt" clearly didn't want to work after 7:00pm.... Here's another problem... We were told after the 2nd day that we MUST dock in Lipari on the third night. Now i've made this sail twice before and never had to dock anywhere on the 3rd day. Now doing this wasn't a big deal until we had to pay nearly $200 for this. Something that was never disclosed to us when we booked this trip/boat.... Of course both the owner and Click and Boat knows this but did not inform us of this... Mu advise..... STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOAT, AND THE OWNER FABRIZIO... And to Click & Boat... Your clients deserve better than this!!!!!!

With my brother and his family we rented a 41-foot sailboat, with which, starting from Salerno, we first reached the Amalfi coast and then the beautiful island of Capri in a few days with the skipper Francesco. The trip, which in itself would have been fantastic only for the destinations visited, has become even more beautiful both thanks to the comfort of the boat, and to the skipper Francesco, with whom we have always been in tune, and who has allowed us to fully appreciate our holiday sailing even sailing along the coast of Capri. An excellent captain and an experience to be repeated to escape a little from the mainland.

POSITIVE: 1. Proprietary -> Sabrina is an exceptional person! Apprehensive and very approachable. He guided us all the way with great care. 2. Boat -> consistent with photos and clean NEGATIVE: 1. Tank failure -> It was announced 2 minutes before departure that the tank did not indicate the correct fuel level and that therefore we would have to pay a flat-rate hourly rate ... (we also understood that the problem was already known by the Skipper) 2. Skipper -> Vincenzo, albeit sympathetic, has sinned of his young age making requests to the group outside the minimum education. I admit it was our first trip by boat, so maybe some things are normal, but I think it's not very polite and correct towards customers: 2.1. ask if there is more food because he is hungry (besides using drinks without asking) 2.2. to ask in a rude manner (as if we were collaborators) to help him in the landing and departure phases and to be quick as it was not possible for him to stop (besides being dangerous for us, never having done so, we were also "scolded" because at said his we didn't help him well by making him scratch the boat ") * And luckily the announcement foresaw landings at the cost of the organization ... 2.3. to wait at a pier for 20 min as he, instead of landing, had immediately taken off and then returned to pick us up (and although we had agreed on precise timing) 2.4. to say to get out of the boat immediately, once back, despite part of the crew was hurt (including even a green code), suggesting a lack of responsibility (which no one asked him among other things) 3. Lack of first aid kit on board. IN BRIEF: definitely a good experience and to be repeated! Next time with greater awareness in knowing what to clarify in advance at the start.
