This offers a vintage, "movie set" atmosphere that many travelers find magical. Highly Rated Captain: Captain George himself is frequently described as "informative," "funny," and "smart," with over 35 years of experience. He is known for sharing deep knowledge of the island's history, culture, and sailing, often making guests feel like they are sailing with a friend rather than a crew. Avoids Crowds: Because he operates a smaller, traditional boat, he often avoids the heavy traffic of larger cruise ships, timing stops at the volcano and hot springs o ensure a more private experience. Excellent Food & Service: Reviews consistently highlight the delicious, freshly prepared Greek meals (often grilled on board), generous portions, and attentive service from the crew. Strong Track Record: The company has nearly 200 reviews on with a rating of 4.8/5, with many guests returning year after year or recommending it as the "highlight of their trip." If you are looking for a traditional, intimate, and highly personalized sailing experience rather than a large party boat, this is widely considered one of the best options in Santorini. 1)Three Hours sunset cruise! This was one the best experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life. The captain is very gentleman, caring and super easy going. I went with my three other friends and we had a blast. I will recommend this experience to anyone having their first time in Santorini, and looking for something nice, calm and a great time
Had A good cruise with some very nice people! That is why an extra hour was added to the cruise at no cost for the birthday celebration !!
George is very experienced and we had a wonderful time sailing with him and hearing the geological history of Santorini. He also altered the start time to avoid the rush hour with the boats and we had almost a private experience at the hot springs. Highly recommend George.
Nice and friendly people ! Easy going !!

Captain George was raised and educated in Australia and has over 35 years experience in skippering sea craft around the Greek Islands and is the creator of the sunset cruise in its present form! His passion for the sea and tradition has lead him to restore one of the most important boats that was used for transportation of people and goods between the islands and the mainland for centuries. It all started back in the early 90’s when he started BBQ cruises on Santorini and various islands in the Aegean – reminiscent of the Australian weekends of his youth. The boat is the S/Y Eleftheria, a 55-foot wooden built traditional Greek Kaiki -Trechandiri or working boat, which nowadays are open museums and carry memories of a world that is fading right in front of us. We also cater for VIP tours, private charters, sunset cruise and individual itineraries, BBQ trips and full day tours around Santorini and the surrounding Islands.
