***TO READ THE OWNER'S RESPONSE KEEP SCROLLING*** We rent a Jeanneau Voyage 12.50 sailboat with skipper Paolo in VIBO MARINA for a holiday in the Aeolian Islands from 7 to 13 August 2022. The program proposed by the skipper was very nice, a pity that it was not possible to implement it due to numerous failures in succession. After 2 hours of sailing, when lowering the mainsail, one of the sliding carriages got stuck, one of us had to hoist himself up to 3 meters to unlock it. For the rest of the week the skipper did not want to use the sails for fear of a blockage, transforming the sailing holiday into a motor boat. Arrived at the port of Tropea the alternator failed, the replacement delayed the departure of at least 2 hours preventing us from various scheduled baths in the transfer. On the fourth day, the ladder in front of Spiagge Bianche in Lipari broke, the skipper wanted to return to the port to repair it, making us lose the day. The suggestion was to go with the buses which was even better ?!?! On the fifth day the skipper wanted to return prematurely to his port of Vibo Marina, on returning he wanted to prevent us from further stops due to the unrepaired ladder. On returning, the engine starter broke, so we had to interrupt the holiday a day earlier due to the complete unusability of the boat: without engine and without sails. We add that despite repeated requests we have never been able to use the tender to approach the beaches (perhaps it was broken too?) We specify that the boat immediately appeared neglected, it was clear that ordinary maintenance was lacking both internally and externally. Our requests to the customer service of Click&Boat were completely useless both for the solution of the problems and for a possible reimbursement for expenses incurred (in the email they warned us not to contact them anymore). ***OWNER'S RESPONSE*** I would like to reply to Mr. Alessandro who, knowing he was lying, artfully falsified what happened during the holiday with the clumsy aim of trying to obtain some benefit. It may happen that, when the mainsail is lowered, one of the trolleys gets sideways, preventing the sail from completing its regular course. Problem easily solved and so it was. Claiming that subsequently I would no longer have wanted to open the sails to prevent the problem from repeating itself is one of Mr. Alessandro's many falsehoods: simply, in the days that followed there was total calm, not even a gust of wind.. Alternator failure: promptly resolved by replacing it from scratch. But, even in this case, our man invents another lie, claiming that the delay in the departure for the Aeolian Islands, scheduled for 7 am and which took place at 9 am, "would have prevented various baths scheduled in the transfer". Apart from the fact that the transfer from Tropea to Salina requires about 8 hours of navigation in the open sea and I don't know that there are any landing places for swimming along the route, the agreed program included the first stop with a swim as soon as we arrived in Santa Marina di Salina, and so it was. The broken ladder would have lost an entire day; also in this case Mr. Alessandro lies knowing he is lying and forgets that after leaving the port around 9 we headed to the white beaches of Lipari where we regularly anchored and stopped for about 3 hours during which, despite the broken ladder, we could swim regularly with the exception of a lady (Alessandro's sister) who was unable to get back on the boat without the help of the broken ladder. At that point I suggested to the guests to evaluate the possibility of returning to the port and going to the beaches of nearby Canneto. And so it was (and I don't know that he forced them). The ladder, then, was somewhat repaired. It is also false that I would have prevented further swimming when returning to Vibo Marina: to be exact, we stopped in Punta Safò just before returning to the port.
Excellent service. Friendly and helpful captain. We had fun! Thank you!
