Kanli kula is an interesting fortress. The Bulgakov Museum in Herceg Novi is nice to visit. The beach is nice but crowded at day time. Restaurants at the coastal line are nice.

Herceg Novi is an absolute treasure on the Montenegrin coast — a perfect blend of natural beauty, rich history, and modern luxury. Our stay in this charming town exceeded every expectation, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any traveller seeking a unique and enriching experience.
We stayed at Lazure Hotel & Marina, an exceptional property that beautifully combines old-world charm with contemporary design. The hotel is a restored 18th-century Venetian building, seamlessly blended with modern architecture, all in harmony with its stunning seaside setting. The staff were outstanding — warm, professional, and attentive, with service that truly stood out even by international standards.
The Adriatic Sea here is the clearest we’ve ever swum in — and we say that as seasoned world travellers. The water is sparkling, calm, and incredibly inviting, perfect for swimming, snorkelling, or simply relaxing by the shore.
A boat trip is an absolute must while in Herceg Novi. Splash out and hire privately — you will not regret it. We highly recommend the "Hanse Hanse 400e" with Llija, the boat’s owner. He is an excellent skipper and host who creates an unforgettable day on the water, tailored to your pace and preferences.
Herceg Novi’s Old Town is a delight to explore — full of character, cobbled streets, charming squares, and a wide variety of restaurants offering delicious local cuisine. A scenic promenade links the old town to Lazure Hotel, making for a lovely after-dinner walk along the coast, with views that never disappoint.
One of the true highlights of our trip was discovering Savina Winery, perched above the town with panoramic views over Boka Bay. This small, family-run winery is an absolute gem, offering fantastic wine, fresh and flavourful food, and a setting that is simply breathtaking.
From the pristine sea to the historic charm and exceptional hospitality, Herceg Novi is a destination that feels both relaxing and culturally rich. It’s a place we’ll fondly remember — and one we absolutely hope to return to.

Perfect boat for money. Swedish boat certified for 55 HP engine is robust and stable on water. The boat is convenient for small kids. They can sleep in the cabin. We had perfect two-days trip with three kids. The first day route was Herceg Novi -> Blue Cave -> Arza beach ->Bijela, and the second day route was Bijela -> Kotor -> Herceg Novi. Boat speed with two adults and three kids is approximately 11 km/h. Thus, toute ffrom Bijerla to Kotor takes about 1 h 40 min, and route from Bijela to Herceg Novi is about 1 h 15 min. Total duration of boating was 4.5-5 hours per day and fuel consumption was about 10 l per day. It is easy to boat in the bay: the traffic is not heavy and most skippers follow the rules. Speed boats in the bay produce some waves. Kids like these waves. There were free buoys in Bijela to keep the boat during the night. Parking in Kotor for several hours at day time was easy. There were arrays of 5-7 free slots near the pierce in the deepest part of the bay followed by private slots. The free slots near the pierce were most probably reserved to accept long boats. Thus, officially, there the boats should not be left without attendance. However, it was relatively safe to put a small boat at the junction between the private slots and free space, as it does not disturb others and does not catch an eye. We had an amazing day out on the water with Boki3. The communication was brilliant, offering alternative days in advance if the weather wasn’t ideal.
They arranged some delicious food and drink for us and were so accommodating so that we could have a great trip as friends. Would highly recommend that boat and skipper Bojan.
