Sailboat Charter in Fort Lauderdale with Click&Boat

Known for its many water canals and marinas, Fort Lauderdale belongs to the northern metropolitan area of Miami. With 300 miles of waterways and 40,000 resident boats, this city has often been called "The boating capital of the World" or "The Venice of America."

This city is also the host of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which is of significant size and very popular with tourists and locals.

In Ft. Lauderdale, you will find picturesque beaches with large piers, and people roller skating along the beach's boardwalk. Fort Lauderdale is the perfect city for a sailboat rental because of the numerous full-service marinas and beautiful waters waiting for you to navigate.

How much does it cost to rent a sailboat in Fort Lauderdale?

The price of a sailboat charter in Ft Lauderdale, Florida depends on a few factors. Things such as prices may be influenced by the size and model of the boat, and if it is high or low tourism season in the area. Extras like fuel and the services of a captain may come at an additional cost. So to be sure, contact the boat owner via Click&Boat’s messaging platform to ask any questions you may have.

Sailing in Fort Lauderdale....

Fort Lauderdale offers an impressive "playground" for boaters to take advantage of. Here are some of our top recommendations for your next sailing trip in the area:

With a sailboat hire in Fort Lauderdale, sail along the coast, try scuba diving or snorkeling, and swim all day long!

If you decide to rent for more than a day, consider taking a quick boat ride to Miami, where you can enjoy beautiful sandbars (Elliot Key, Boca Chita Island, Haulover sandbar), party ambiance, and Cuban-American culture.

Moreover, there are some interesting places that are only accessible by boat, such as “The Christ of the Abyss” statue in Key Largo, Stiltsville in the Biscayne Bay, the Fowey Rocks Lighthouse, and the Boca Chita Island with its lighthouse and beautiful beach.

For longer trips, we also recommend two routes. First, you can choose to set sail for the Bahamas. Located about 50 nautical miles off the coast of Florida, there are plenty of beautiful islands to discover at your own leisure. And the second route would be sailing to the famous Florida Keys, which includes Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, and Key West. Within a week you can easily spend time at some of these keys and state parks, getting to know the island way of life!

With a sailboat or yacht in Fort Lauderdale, you can also sail the Intracoastal Waterway, with nice sights to see and easy cruising.

When is the best time to sail in Southern Florida?

Florida is a paradise for sailors year-round. You can set sail from late Fall to late Spring, however, we suggest the late Spring as being the best time to visit and sail due to fewer crowds. Generally, the late summer tends to be hurricane season.

If you are interested in a sailboat hire in Ft Lauderdale or in any of the Florida Keys, we highly recommend that you make a reservation in advance with Click&Boat to ensure that you can set sail on board the perfect boat or yacht rental.

Are sailboat hires available with a captain?

Yes! With Click&Boat, most sailboat charters in Fort Lauderdale are available with an experienced captain and crew. All you have to do is sit back and relax while the skipper and crew take care of everything from navigating, docking, and more! This is also a great option for those who are planning parties or celebrations on board!

Our captains are local experts who know the area best! Allow them to show you their favorite places: from lovely seaside towns to sandy beaches, coves, and islands. They might even have recommendations on the area’s best restaurants and bars if you are interested in docking’n’dining.

For those interested in bareboat charters and who have the proper sailing qualifications, contact our owners on Click&Boat for more information and availabilities.

Why charter a sailboat for your next sailing adventure?

Sailboat hires are ideal for anyone interested in learning to sail, wanting a unique day on the water, or for those who plan to sail for a longer period of time and require cabins.

Depending on the model and length of the sailboat, they can typically accommodate 4 to 6 guests comfortably. This is a great option for small families and couples.

Imagine yourself discovering Florida’s coast, stopping to watch the sunset, relaxing at a beach, and most importantly- creating unforgettable memories with your loved ones. Sailing charters are definitely a bucket-list-worthy adventure!

While on the water we saw beautiful houses and boats/yachts. It was a great experience and weather held up beautifully. It was our first time in the boat and we didn’t have any trouble driving in the water with other boats. Surrounding boaters were friendly and respectful. Will definitely rent again.

Fort Lauderdale is a city on Florida's southeastern coast, known for its beaches and boating canals. The Strip is a promenade running along oceanside highway A1A. It's lined with upscale outdoor restaurants, bars, boutiques and luxury hotels. Other attractions include the International Swimming Hall of Fame, with pools and a museum of memorabilia, and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, featuring trails and a lagoon.

Intercoastal waterways are fun, especially the mansions (floating and on land). The signage can be a little confusing (some of the locals seem to think no-wake means "full throttle.") The Lauderdale Marina is great for refueling (the boat and the people) and the staff is super helpful. If you plan to go intercoastal, give yourself plenty of time. If the waves are calm out to sea, a trip to Miami is also worth a day's trip.
