The boat was amazing, maintenance, cleanliness, etc was everything we could have asked for - easy to drive and pick up despite not driving a boat before. We had such a good day. The staff were welcoming and helpful however we did not expect to pay €150 euro for a full tank of fuel and safety pre-cautions despite having already paid €187 for the hire. As well as only having used half a tank. This doesn’t mean we wouldn’t have paid or rented the boat however we feel that this should have been made clearer prior to rental.

We had an amazing experience renting a motorboat from Thomas. He made sure we had everything we needed, gave us clear and helpful instructions on how to operate the boat, and recommended beautiful places to visit. The boat was very comfortable and easy to handle. Without a doubt, this was the most fun day of the trip

Sailing in Greece: Make memories with family and friends

There is no shortage of unforgettable experiences in Greece. Make the best memories together with your children, family, or friends. The seascapes and cityscapes are wondrous, from the mighty ruins of the Acropolis to the bustling, modern city center of Athens. Experience an unforgettable boating vacation aboard your private boat.

Greece has a long and fascinating history, a reputation for year-round sunshine, and a wealth of enticing beaches, making it a natural choice for vacationers. Regardless, cruising on a sailboat or catamaran is doubly fun and rewarding. You'll have plenty of room for all your company, the boats are equipped with all the measures, to make your sailing trip in Greece as safe as possible. Go island hopping, discover the most beautiful destinations together and experience the best activities.

Sailing trips in Greece with a skipper and crew

If you want to spend your sailing trip in Greece as relaxing as possible, then booking with a captain is just what you're looking for! The captain knows the area and will take you by boat to the most beautiful places in Greece while you sit back, relax and enjoy the view!

Depending on your preference and the boat, you have the choice to travel with a full crew on board. The crew usually consists of four to six crew members: a captain, a cook, one or two hostesses, and one or more sailors. Book a cruise on a catamaran with crew to add even more luxury and comfort to your vacation. The crew will make sure you have everything you need during your vacation, so you can fully relax on board. Of course, the skipper and crew have their own sleeping quarters on board.

Make your sailing trip in Greece unique! It all depends on what you want for your sailing adventure.

Should I cruise on a catamaran or a sailboat?

You may begin to wonder what kind of boat best suits you for your sailing trip in Greece. Due to the strength of the wind in certain areas in Greece, often families and less experienced sailors prefer a catamaran. For example, catamarans are very popular in the Cyclades for this reason!

The most important success factor for catamarans is undoubtedly the "liveability" on board. This does not change if the boat is at anchor, at the mooring or underway. The double hull construction places the main superstructure on and between the two hulls. This creates a large salon and a huge aft cockpit, which is a great advantage in hot climates. Because these are mostly or nearly level, you don't feel like you're stepping into a twilight zone, as on a single hull, where the salon usually has few natural light sources due to the small portholes or overhead hatches.

Today's sailboats are built specifically for sailing trips. With bedrooms, a bathroom, a galley, a sitting area, and of course storage space for your belongings, you can stay on board for a long time. The cockpit is of course where the boat is steered, but the foredeck is where you can relax. Moreover, a sailboat can travel a long distance without consuming fuel, which makes a sailing vacation even more attractive. Despite the enormous space on board, sailboats can often achieve a lot of speed, which makes sailing an exhilarating experience.

Both a sailboat and a catamaran have their advantages when it comes to vacations. Both boats are excellent for a fantastic sailing vacation.

Holiday experiences

Travel dreams come true with a Greek cruise. Greece, the land of Gods and Olympias, is a true Eldorado for all cruise fans. The islands off the mainland are each something special, and when you enter the port of Piraeus, you enter a place rich in history that will also enchant you.

In the capital of Greece, Athens, you will find the extraordinary remains of the former city fortress. The Acropolis of Athens is the most famous representation of an ancient citadel.

On the Greek island of Corfu, you can visit the town of the same name. Venetian, French and British rulers once controlled the island before it fell to Greece.

An absolute highlight of any Greek sailing vacation is the pearl Santorini. Located in the southern Aegean Sea, the archipelago was created about 1,500 years ago as a result of a volcanic eruption of volcanic lava. High on the cliffs stand the typical white houses with their blue domes, which still bear witness to their unique history. Santorini invites any cruise driver to linger.

One of the most popular destinations is Crete - the largest island in Greece. Land in Heraklion or Chania and discover the many cultural attractions the island has to offer.

On Mykonos, you will arrive on the party island in the Aegean Sea. The beautiful view of the sea is defined by the many bars along the promenade. When the sun sets over the sea in the evening, the party starts in Mykonos.

Of course, you will have plenty of opportunities to participate in your favorite water sports during your boating vacation. Swim around the boat in the clear blue waters for a refreshing dip, or bring your snorkeling equipment to view marine life while snorkeling. Optional extras like supping, surfing, water skiing and jet skiing are often offered during your boating vacation!

How much does a sailing trip for a week cost?

Prices for a sailing trip in Greece can vary depending on the season, the rental period and the size, comfort, and equipment of the boat. As an experienced sailor with a license, you have the option of hiring a bareboat charter and becoming the captain of the boat yourself. On large boats, a skipper is sometimes required to minimize the risk of damage. Even as an experienced sailor, you will benefit from the skipper's local expertise and insider tips. For a more luxurious and carefree sailing trip in Greece, you can choose to charter a crewed boat. In addition, you should check what costs are included in the charter price before booking. On average to rent a sailboat during the low season prices start from 1600 euros. For a catamaran, this can be from 2100 euros.

Places to visit in Greece

Discover Athens, Corfu, Santorini (often called 'the jewel') or the largest of Greece's islands, Crete. Don't miss cruising on the incredible waters surrounding Mykonos!

Best time for a cruise in Greece

Due to its Mediterranean climate, we recommend sailing in Greece during the summer months. During the high season, the Greek islands are very popular, so for the most relaxing vacation, opt for a cruise in May, June, September and October.
