We wanted to go sailing as a family, as we have extensive sailing experience. We searched for a long time to find the right yacht to explore Sardinia. We were offered a 2025 Beneteau First 53 sailing yacht with suitable equipment. It could only be rented with a captain. Once we arrived, we found out that the captain was also the owner of the yacht. So we were like guests on his boat, cruising according to his rules. He was very nice and friendly, and we got a lot of useful information about Sardinia and Italy. But we wanted privacy and to sail with our family. There are many more details, but if you want to go on a cruise, this is a very good choice. However, if you want to rent a boat yourself and sail with your family and friends in the traditional way, we do not recommend this. The charter company should clearly add this comment to the offer.

We rented from Antonio for a day and had an amazing experience. The contact with him was great – he always replied quickly. We were welcomed and briefed by a very friendly lady, who also sent us recommendations via WhatsApp for beautiful beaches to visit in the area. It was our first time and the briefing was excellent, everything was clearly explained. Everything went smoothly – we’d definitely do it again!

Poor construction of the bimini needed to be fixed.

Had a great day on the boat. Everything was explained properly with no short cuts. The guys were friendly and couldn’t help enough. Will definitely book again.

We liked ‘Elnath’ very much. She is roomy, comfortable and easy to handle. Her great beam (width) makes the saloon, cockpit and forepeak very spacious. Everything worked, her equipment was fine.
The foresail is small, but that is OK. It’s not for speed but for safe and easy handling.
The heavy black warps are too fat for female hands to coil.
For two omissions we should probably thank NSS. We were not given binoculars. We were not given a pilot book, but a QR code for a .pdf of 150 pages, most unsatisfactory. One needs a physical book. If we had been warned a week before then we could have extracted the small amount we needed from the .pdf.
