For inshore fishing, Snook is going to be your go-to fish. Anglers from all over the world come to Florida’s eastern coast to try and catch this species. Snook are in Fort Lauderdale year-round, spending the winters in the canals and making their way to the bays with warmer temperatures.

When is the best time to visit?

Ft. Lauderdale can be enjoyed all year round!

However, we suggest that you come and visit during the months of March, April, and May where there are fewer visitors, but daily temperatures still remain warm.

June, July, and August are when Fort Lauderdale is at its warmest, rainiest and hottest. But boating is still a great way to cold down from the hot summer sun!

December and January remain South Florida’s peak season, where there are typically more tourists, higher prices. So if you are planning a boat rental during this time, be sure to book in advance to make sure that your dream boat is available.

While on the water we saw beautiful houses and boats/yachts. It was a great experience and weather held up beautifully. It was our first time in the boat and we didn’t have any trouble driving in the water with other boats. Surrounding boaters were friendly and respectful. Will definitely rent again.

Fort Lauderdale is a city on Florida's southeastern coast, known for its beaches and boating canals. The Strip is a promenade running along oceanside highway A1A. It's lined with upscale outdoor restaurants, bars, boutiques and luxury hotels. Other attractions include the International Swimming Hall of Fame, with pools and a museum of memorabilia, and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, featuring trails and a lagoon.

Intercoastal waterways are fun, especially the mansions (floating and on land). The signage can be a little confusing (some of the locals seem to think no-wake means "full throttle.") The Lauderdale Marina is great for refueling (the boat and the people) and the staff is super helpful. If you plan to go intercoastal, give yourself plenty of time. If the waves are calm out to sea, a trip to Miami is also worth a day's trip.
