Description of Cyril's sailboat

Why the First 25.7? I was looking for a sporty boat that would allow cruising for a few days with an acceptable level of comfort from my point of view. Although it is a little dated, the hull has fairly modern lines and I like the layout, with a separate cabin at the front. The boat is certified A0, B4, C6, D6, which allows 4 people to go to Corsica or sail 6nm from a shelter for up to 6 friends. Having already sailed and maintained a ballasted dinghy, the fixed keel appealed to me and does not seem to be very limiting when cruising for the body of water in question. Sailing: All maneuvers return to the cockpit. The genoa is furling. Genoa in eXPR and main in Dacron triradial cut (2021 and 2022). The boat can sail in very light airs and comes alive from 8 knots, especially with code zero. Very pleasant at the helm between 10 and 15 knots, it starts to be sporty from 17 knots. The furler (2018) and the lazy bag allow you to quickly enjoy anchorages. Spinnaker level, on request and after discussions, Skip'Cool can be equipped with symmetrical spinnakers (one for training, a medium in very good condition and one heavy) or with a symmetrical spinnaker in good condition of approximately 55m2. A Mylar zero code on storage can also be made available. Lifelines with straps all around the cockpit for everyone's comfort. Ways of navigation: Anemometer, Lock-speedometer-raymarine depth sounder. Fixed VHF DSC/AIS receiver and portable VHF DSC. AXIOM 9+ GPS plotter with Mediterranean map. EV-100 Tiller Pilot. Numerous paper maps of the PACA region + Corsica and Balearic Islands; Mediterranean marine block of the year A hardened tablet allows you to take advantage of the Navionics Mediterranean application (maps loaded between Marseille and Fréjus + Corsica). On a cruise: A large sun shade allows you to get in the shade to enjoy an anchorage or motor transport if the wind is absent. Gas fire on gimbal in kitchen with kettle, frying pan and large saucepan. 6 full place settings (no wine glass, sorry; but there are rum glasses). The original cooler was equipped with a cold unit which keeps the mozzarella and beers cold. The battery lasts for approximately two days without starting the engine. WC with black water tank. 3 Banners for 5 places maximum: *) Triangular bunk in the closed front cabin: 1.6m wide by 1.8m long (2.1m along the sides and 30cm at the feet) *) Starboard bunk in the saloon (in two-person position): 2m long by 1m wide at the head and 90cm at the feet *) Bannette for 1 person, 2.1m long by 80cm wide at the head and 50cm at the feet Foldable cockpit table. Annex, electric motor and manual inflator. Security: Deep-sea armament possible (survival not included in the price). Subject to renting survival equipment, it is possible to be armed to go to Corsica. Five self-inflating life jackets with two-point lanyard and flash light plus classic life jackets (as many as you want….) including 3 children (10-20kg; 20-30kg and 15-30kg). Two harnesses with complementary lanyard. Various and varied tools; corkscrew. Bandol and surrounding areas: The boat is in Bandol (Var). Easy access by the motorway (paid parking recommended for stays of more than 7 days) and by the train station located 20 minutes' walk from the boat. Toulon/Hyères airport is a 30-minute drive away, excluding traffic jams. Many anchorages allow for more or less peaceful swimming: Bendor at the exit of the port for an aperitif or at the end of the cruise; Bay of the Seagull with the submarine rock to make jumps between 3m and 10m (20 minutes on the motor), the island of Embiez (1 hour of navigation), the Green Island in front of La Ciotat (3 hours of navigation) … A little further (a good day's sailing) you will find the creeks of Cassis or the Frioul Islands to the west or the Golden Islands (Proqurolles, Port Cros, Ile du Levant) to the east. The most experienced will be able to reach Corsica (be careful, you need to rent an additional survival device) after 24 to 36 hours of navigation. If it was necessary to find other good reasons to come and sail in this pretty little corner, Bandol has very good wines, some medieval villages are less than an hour's drive away. And without being chauvinistic, it’s beautiful! The final word: The photos are indicative because they are taken as improvements and prototyping progress. Don't be surprised if you find an extra bathing area, a gas barbecue or that the prototype of a rigid hall disappears.… Do not hesitate to ask to arrive the evening before or to modify the departure and/or arrival dates/time: it will probably be possible to make arrangements depending on availability. ;) I have prepared a welcome guide for you which I will send by email once the reservation is made in order to give you information on parking possibilities as well as a fairly detailed description of the boat. Chartered the boat for 4 days in December 2024 with two men on board. Was a great experience! Cyril is a great host, well organized, provided extensive prep material and spent sufficient onboarding time to make us comfortable with the boat. Area is great to sale around, beautiful neighbouring harbors. The boat is a bit dated but well maintained and with many modern perks. Can recommend the experience and planning to return.
Cyril is a fantastic teacher and a great co-sailor. We felt like we are renting the boat from a Friend and we had a great time in Cassis, La Ciotat, Bandol and on anchor in the most beautiful places. As we are beginners in doing this we were sometimes overwhelmed especially with this very fast and powerful boat. But after 3-4 days we had learned how to anchor or how to deal with swell and stronger winds in the afternoon.

Skip Cool will remain etched in my sailing history because it was my first sailing as skipper. 100% female crew for 3 days heading to Porquerolle, Port Cros. The boat is easy to handle, and quickly gives sensations. Cyril takes the time for at least 2 good hours to explain everything about the boat, from safety to the general operation of the boat, including the special sails (code 0 for example which we really appreciated in light airs. Cyril took the time to show us how to rig it). Thank you for your welcome, your confidence and your good humor. We will certainly rent Skip Cool again.

Cyril was very welcoming and attentive to our every need to make our few days of cruising together on his boat easier. He even came to pick us up and take us back to the Bandol train station! Skip'cool is very well equipped and you can tell he takes great care of it. We felt safe there, whether we were anchored in the coves or returning downwind in a good mistral.
This was my first charter experience with C&B, so I was a little nervous, but everything went well. The boat: clean and visibly well-maintained, well-equipped with a very complete and high-quality set of sails despite "intensive" use under the Mediterranean sun. Efficient yet simple, it was perfectly suited to our program. This simplicity greatly facilitates handling, especially since the manual written by Cyril is very clear and comprehensive. The owner, Cyril: competent, knowing his boat perfectly, he knows how to instill confidence in the renter, which is a guarantee of a successful cruise, especially for a short period, which was our case. Total satisfaction, therefore, especially since the weather was favorable to us, but this owes nothing to C&B or Cyril!...

We had a great time on the rented boat. The boat itself was well equipped and showed signs of wear and tear due to age, but this is normal for a boat with so many miles sailed. The safety equipment was comprehensive and in very good condition, so we felt safe at all times. We were particularly impressed by the on-board electronics - the navigation in particular was excellent and helped us to cope well even in more challenging conditions. A big thank you goes to the landlord Cyril, who impressed us with his helpfulness and professionalism. The introduction to how the boat works and the practice trips in the harbor were very helpful, and his travel tips were also worth their weight in gold. Cyril stayed in touch with us throughout our stay and regularly informed us about the weather, wind conditions and any potential dangers - a fantastic service! Communication was also always smooth, fast and absolutely reliable. All in all, an absolutely recommendable experience!

The First 25.7 is a perfect and ambivalent boat for all-weather outings. It can be sailed in leisure mode for a family and with a few adjustments transports you to sport mode. There were 5 of us on board (max sleeping capacity) and the space is really well designed both in terms of the berths and the cockpit. But above all, the most important thing is its owner. Cyril is a real sailor who takes pleasure in pampering his boat with new sails, a perfect navigation system and superb accessories (barbecue, rear shelf, light garland to lengthen the evenings, etc.). In addition to taking care of his boat, he takes care of his guests, everything is thought out and considered so that the stay goes as well as possible: from taking charge of the boat (available to do maneuvers with you if it's been a few time you haven't sailed) through a pixie with all the best secret spots around and ending with unfailing availability mixed with a feeling of brotherhood unique to sailing. Thank you for these few days Cyril and see you next year for a tour of Corsica I hope!
What can I say, just perfect! ? Cyril is on top, the ⛵ is very pleasant to navigate. 4* only for comfort but that's normal, it's a race cruiser, you don't expect a 25.7 to be luxurious. Very nice sailing experience on this First 25.7. It is very well equipped in proportion to its size. Cyril is passionate about sailing and the rigging is commensurate with his passion. Available and cool like the name of this Skip Cool sailboat. I recommend it to you and I can't wait to go back and explore other capacities of this sailboat which I certainly only used at 10% of its capacities.

Excellent first sailboat rental experience with Cyril's First 25.7 "Skip'Cool"! From the first exchanges on Click&Boat, Cyril was very available and generous with information about his sailboat, the sailing area and the rental conditions (sails available on board, equipment, time of departure and arrival). The handling of the boat confirmed this first good impression: Cyril really takes the time to give a complete safety brief, to make an exhaustive tour of the boat inside and outside and he also takes the time to do the first harbor maneuvers together. The Skip'Cool sailboat is perfectly consistent with the photos and the description. There were three of us on board and we were very comfortable, both for maneuvers and navigation and in terms of sleeping and storage inside. Skip'Cool is very well equipped with very recent sails, safe fittings and very valuable navigation aids (tablet for interior navigation, autopilot if necessary, lazy bag for the Mainsail). The First 25.7 offers great sensations on the water downwind and upwind, perfect for sporty cruising but also more escape :) As for the navigation area, it is ideal for day and multi-day sailing, as we did! In short, we had a great time and we can't wait to be able to re-hire Skip'Cool to continue exploring the surroundings under sail.

Great rental, very warm welcome and exchanges with Cyril who does his best to ensure that the rental goes well. He took the necessary time to welcome us and explain the specificities of the boat. Skip'Cool is a first 25.7 in remarkable condition for its age and equipped as for its owner. GPS, VHF, fridge, sun awning, dinghy... everything is there! With even a few bonuses (special mention to the "home made" bathing area, a delight at anchor). For sailing, the latter are recent and in excellent condition, and the rigging complete. The few adjustments made by the owner make it possible to correct the rare original imperfections of the said rig. It is a boat that sails above all with its owner, and it shows! Far from the few floating wrecks that we sometimes find, rented out by owners who are not very involved or scrupulous... The owner, precisely, Cyril is an enthusiast who loves his boat. Renting is a way for him to keep improving it. It's all good for the respectful tenant. We had excellent contact with him before, during and after the cruise. Thanks to him for allowing us to enjoy these 7 days between creeks and Hyères islands in the best possible conditions. Briac
