Overall rating
Joël is an excellent, charming and helpful host. Papy Joe was great, sails well and we had a lovely couple of days aboard.
Functional boat. We were able to hoist the solent and hoist the spinnaker. These sails were in good condition. The boat corresponds to the description in the advertisement. Joël will give you a warm welcome. The departure from the pontoon is right at the exit of the port, which facilitates a quick exit into the harbor of Lorient.
Great boat, great welcome, Joel is attentive, calm and friendly. We had a great stay.
The only downside is for the platform Click&Boat. If Joel had not warned me about the deposit. I had not received a request to pay it.
Thank you Joel. The boat was perfect for our sailing program.
Very nice week on Grandpa Joe around the islands of Groix and Belle-Île. The boat is very practical and comfortable, and very healthy on the water. Joël gives us advice and stays in touch during the crossing, I recommend!
Joël is an extremely meticulous owner, thus allowing him to have a boat in excellent condition with everything perfectly available. I highly recommend his boat which allowed us to go to Glenants and Groix over 3 days from Lorient.
Pleasant boat and Joel was very accommodating and responsive. THANKS!
Top rental, well maintained boat, super friendly rental company, we will come back to Lorient with pleasure.
Very good reception and availability of the owner by telephone if necessary during the stay. Boat well equipped and compliant in terms of safety
Very good weekend around Groix on Joël's sailboat. Despite its age, the boat is very well maintained and has not caused us any problems. The document sent the previous week is very useful for apprehending the boat. During the handling Joël took the time to explain all the points to know and he remains permanently reachable in case of questions. To guarantee a comfortable navigation, do not exceed 3 or 4 adults. Thank you Joel for your trust!
Joel was very friendly and helpful, even picking us up from the station and also returning us to the station so we didn't miss our train. The boat, despite its age, was working very well and the replacement of the genoa at La Trinité enabled us to enjoy our full week. Only one small downside, the instruments are not lit to navigate at night and the hawsers were particularly worn. A rental cream as we would like to come across more often... :)
Contact with Joël is very easy, he is trustworthy and Grandpa Joe allowed us to spend 3 great days between Lorient and Groix, to be redone
Boat conforms to its description, in good condition despite its advanced age. High-performance boat, the charm of the boats of the 80s. Very detailed description booklet of the boat, which facilitates the handling. Friendly welcome and return, great availability from Joël.
Papy Jo a safe and easy boat. Cleats at the foot of the mast would be welcome. Joël the owner is very available and gives good advice.
Joel is a warm, attentive and responsive landlord. the boat is comfortable at sea. motor sails in BE. unfortunately the HS elts have not been repaired or replaced (windlass removed, anemometer wind vane, HS left bulkhead compass, lack of port lifeline.. We were surprised to have to sign a week before the rental a document committing us not to go out beyond force 5. "coastal" equipment for a boat yet in the old 2nd category. So theoretically impossible to make a direct Groix-Belle-Ile (absence of shelter at less than 6NM... In short, ideal boat for coastal camping
Excellent weekend, available owner who takes the time to explain when taking charge
An available, experienced owner, A complete and maintained boat, which has its age but has not been felt over 100 Mn. Coastal equipment, but not penalizing on the sector.
The boat is faithful to the presentation and the description. Joël is available, very clear in his explanations and very friendly. I recommend.
Papy Jo is an excellent sailboat for a family cruise in southern Brittany. Well equipped with notably recent sails and well maintained. Joël is present, attentive and responsive. He gives good tips for stopovers. To do again!
We rented the boat for the weekend, we are very happy with it - owner available for check-in / check-out - boat runs well - place at the pontoon easy to take
excellent.
Thanks to Joël for this very pleasant boat weekend on Grandpa Joe and for the flexibility on the arrival time (corks..)
Great August week on Magau II. Boat on and upwind very well. Thanks to Joel and his concern that everything goes well. To do again!
Joel is an experienced and very involved rental company. As much in preparation with sending detailed documents (and at the same time consistent and rigorous), as in navigation with daily communication and advice. The boat has its age and full equipment for efficient navigation. To do again with other backgrounds!
Super boat, well maintained, clean and very functional. Joël was very responsive and took the time to completely get to grips with the boat! I highly recommend !
Very good boat, clean and well equipped. Punctual owner. No complaints.
We had a great week aboard Papyjo! It is a very functional and seaworthy boat despite its age that we will be happy to rent again. Joël is also a very present owner who listens to tenants who has been able to trust young people like us. I recommend it !
Joel is very pleasant and welcoming. We found the boat sturdy, maneuverable and reliable for its age.
Joel is available, nice and knows what he's talking about
Very good sailing week with Grandpa Joe. Joël gave good advice and was very accommodating for our stay on the boat, which compensated for some excusable technical problems given the age of the boat.
Safe and seaworthy boat, rather well equipped. Joel the owner is friendly and accommodating. A few small points could be improved for comfort but overall I recommend.
boat conforms to the announcement, everything is present on board whether for navigation or for comfort in port. perfect for a quiet family sailing, owner available before and during the rental if needed
a good seaworthy boat, of a "certain age" but in good shape for its age. Superb 4-day weekend in the islands. We were 5 adults. Communication with Joel impeccable.
Very warm welcome with croissants on Saturday morning. Very clean boat. We had a great weekend.
I highly recommend! We were very well received and the boat is ideally placed at the end of the port of Lorient.
Excellent boat! Joel is available and punctual, he takes the time to go around the boat, very friendly, I recommend!
There were 3 of us sailing on Papyjo. The boat was clean and easy to maneuver. There was everything you need inside. Really a very good experience. Thanks Joel.
Thank you Joël for this great weekend spent with friends with a stopover in Belle-île and Groix. Joël takes the time necessary to explain the technical details to know before entrusting PapyJo and remains available by phone for any questions. I recommend
Very good, Joel very friendly, I recommend!
Good boat, old but sails and engine in good condition. Stiff to the canvas so safe but watch out for the draft in VE! Owner attentive and knowledgeable about sailing. A great week of sailing with ideal weather.
A very pleasant, comfortable and well-equipped boat and a very friendly owner.
Grandpa Jo, Joël's Gib Sea 92 is a great boat. Old design given that it is from 1986 but very seaworthy, super well equipped (sails, kitchen, maps, navigation instruments, etc.), end at the helm, very pleasant to live in. Joël is particularly attentive to his tenants, always available and reachable. In short, we had a great week and are very happy with our meeting with Joël and his boat. Don't hesitate to browse on Papy jo!
A weekend of wind and with moments of sunshine and a benevolent accompaniment from Joël for this good Gibsea: it was successful. J.
Papy Jo brings everything you would expect from a boat of this age. It remains comfortable and pleasant at sea. It's a stiff canvas boat that allowed us some great sailing despite tough conditions. Joel is very welcoming and friendly. I appreciated his regular contacts which combine news and navigation advice as well as his responsiveness to our requests. Do not hesitate to rent this sailboat which allows beautiful small cruises.
Joel is a cordial and welcoming owner. The boat is as old as its arteries, but the GIBSEAs are very seaworthy boats. Joël, who has just acquired this boat, told us that it is being improved. I recommend.
