Yacht charter in Mahón · Beneteau — Oceanis 40 (2011)

The ad is misleading, the photo doesn't reflect the current condition of this boat: there's no furling mainsail as pictured and described when I booked, the hull is average with black marks, and the fenders are very dirty. The bottom is very dirty (I was told this boat was very clean). The current manual mainsail doesn't have a reefing system (this can be dangerous). There's no life raft, so it's only for coastal use; it must have been offshore. Also a surprise: the refrigerator is broken and the autopilot is out of service. And other details: a broken nautical chart, no light on the lifebuoy, and a faulty and backflowing toilet. That's a lot of inconvenience compared to the price of €4,750. I asked for a discount for the missing services, but no one else, like Antonio or Click&Boat, felt concerned. When I challenged the issue, Click&Boat removed the furling mainsail from the description, but the photo remained. On the plus side: the boat's interior is fine, and the engine runs very well.

Antonio welcomed us very attentively and checked us in quickly and in detail. He previously provided us with information about the island, how to get there and how to order food from local supermarkets. He made things easy for us and solved problems from start to finish, always being available on the phone. The boat was perfectly clean and ready to sail. On board there were the necessary navigational tools and a detailed route around Menorca, as well as useful information for circumnavigating the island. Only minor cosmetic defects on the Genoa sail and a weak anchor chain windlass give the boat a 4/5, but the quality-price ratio is excellent. We will repeat!

Warning! Poor condition, inadequate support from charterer Antonio Martquet, deposit withheld without reason! I have never experienced anything like this in my 30 years of experience!
