Carlos maintains and lives on the boat with such a pleasure! The check-in is professional, the support throughout the trip for any important matters, and the boat, being HIS boat, has EVERYTHING you need.
We just spent 15 days cruising around Menorca aboard Papaya, an Oceanis 393 that's not exactly new but very well maintained. (It's a one-owner sailboat!) Since we often sail as a couple and are over sixty years old, we need boats that run and work. This was the case with Papaya. We had no engine problems, either with the inboard or the tender. The genoa and mainsail hoisted, furled, and lowered without any problems. The windlass is efficient. The color markings on the chain are very effective. (Charterers often don't know the chain lengths...) All the equipment is present, and nothing is missing. Downstairs, the bedding in the three cabins was spot on, and the lighting worked. Plenty of quality sheets and towels. In the galley, there's a great fridge, large and efficient, just like Bénéteau used to equip its boats with. And all the equipment for cooking in good conditions on board. In short, this is not far from the ideal charter. As one always has to find something to complain about, a very French habit: the jib furler is a bit stiff, and the electric winch would have been a nice touch if we hadn't been advised against using it. Finally, Rebecca and Carlos, the charter owners, are charming, attentive people who take great care of their boat. The cherry on the cake, the icing on the cake, Papaya has a pontoon berth at the Marina del Rey at the entrance to Mahon's long cove, right next to the gas station! It's not for use.
Everything was great. The boat is exactly as described on the website and shown in the photos. When we arrived, the boat was very clean, and Carlos made us feel at home, explaining every detail of the boat. He also advised us on where to go based on the weather and what we wanted to see. A very good experience, we would definitely repeat.
It is very well preserved. Carlos was very kind and we enjoyed it very much.
