The boat was amazing, maintenance, cleanliness, etc was everything we could have asked for - easy to drive and pick up despite not driving a boat before. We had such a good day. The staff were welcoming and helpful however we did not expect to pay €150 euro for a full tank of fuel and safety pre-cautions despite having already paid €187 for the hire. As well as only having used half a tank. This doesn’t mean we wouldn’t have paid or rented the boat however we feel that this should have been made clearer prior to rental.

We had an amazing experience renting a motorboat from Thomas. He made sure we had everything we needed, gave us clear and helpful instructions on how to operate the boat, and recommended beautiful places to visit. The boat was very comfortable and easy to handle. Without a doubt, this was the most fun day of the trip

Sailing Holidays in Greece

Greece is one of the true jewels of the Mediterranean, with a plethora of destinations and activities to enjoy during your customised cruise in a sailboat or catamaran. On a sailing holiday in Greece, you can visit magnificent monuments such as the Acropolis or the Parthenon, or take a trip into Athens, the vibrant capital city. No matter who you’re setting sail with, you’re sure to have a trip you’ll never forget and will seek to repeat over and over again in the future.

Get ready to make memories on your sailing holiday in Greece with family, children, and friends

There are many things that attract people to Greece, from its rich cultural heritage to ideal weather year-round, and not to mention the assortment of beautiful beaches that offer up the perfect place to relax and escape the worries of the world. Although you’ve probably visited Greece many times before, a cruise in a catamaran or sailboat offers the opportunity to explore this desirable destination from a whole new perspective. We can help you find a boat that will have ample space for your whole group and the amenities available on board will ensure that your sailing holiday in Greece is full of fun, while still guaranteeing safety, even if travelling with young kids. Your island-hopping adventure is only a few clicks away, with a plethora of fantastic activities that you can add to your boat hire without any trouble.

Whether you’re planning a cruise in a sailboat or catamaran with friends, family, or a mixture of the two, we guarantee that you will have a terrific time. Be sure to add different water sports equipment onto your sailing holiday in Greece to ensure that you’re really making the most of this fantastic opportunity. Try your hand at a spot of water skiing or windsurfing to sail over the waves in style, or submerge yourself in the warm waters for a bit of snorkelling or scuba diving. With a wide range of different marine species just below the surface, this is a sure-fire way to make your voyage unforgettable. Children will also love to splash around with the inflatable water toys!

If you’re setting sail with a partner, opt for a crewed cruise in a catamaran or sailboat for the opportunity to enjoy a romantic dinner on board, catered by your own personal chef. With the sensational Greek sunsets and the breathtaking backdrops, what could be more special?

Book your Greek cruise in a sailboat or catamaran with a skipper and crew for the ultimate level of luxury and relaxation

There is truly nothing more relaxing than a crewed sailing holiday in Greece. Even if you are an experienced sailor, a skipper can teach you a lot about the specific area you’ve chosen for your cruise in a catamaran or sailboat. Depending on which boat you want to hire, it may also be possible to set sail with a crew. This crew typically consists of between four and six members, including a skipper, a chef, one or two hostesses and at least one deckhand. Adding a crew to your sailing holiday in Greece means that your every need will be attended to throughout your trip, allowing you to really profit from the luxury and comfort onboard.

There are many options available for your crewed voyage, so make sure you look into each of them carefully and select the one which best accommodates your needs.

Which is better, a cruise on a catamaran or sailboat?

One of the biggest questions when heading off for a sailing holiday in Greece is which boat is best suited to this sort of holiday. Due to the often windy conditions, many families or people who lack sailing experience opt for a catamaran, especially when setting sail in the Cyclades.

A catamaran is certainly the more luxurious option and many even compare it to a floating house. The double hull structure means that there is plenty of space on board and also ensures maximum stability on board, which reduces the risk of seasickness. However, they don’t offer a truly authentic experience and are more expensive, as they require more docking space in the ports and marinas.

A sailboat, on the other hand, has less space on board but should still be very comfortable if you choose this boat type. A sailboat is typically much cheaper than a catamaran, with less docking space required in the ports, and on a cruise in a sailboat, you will also get a much more authentic experience where you can really feel the rhythm of the waves. However, the single-hull structure also leads to less stability, which means there is more chance that someone in your party will suffer from seasickness.

As you can see, there are pros and cons to both boat types, but we can guarantee that you will have a fantastic time, no matter which one you pick.

What are the most sought-after holiday experiences for a sailing holiday in Greece?

There is so much to see during a sailing holiday in Greece that it is impossible to be bored. You can stick to the mainland to explore bustling cities like Athens, or set sail for the idyllic islands just off the coast. Each island group has its own special character that leaves visitors enchanted.

In the capital, Athens, you will find a range of ruins that offer a window into the world of Ancient Greece. The Acropolis is particularly well preserved, making it one of the most popular sights in the Mediterranean.

Corfu has an exceptionally wide range of cultural influences, given that it has been ruled over by everyone from the Venetians to the French, and even the British. The blend of all these cultures creates a destination that is truly unique.

Another must-see destination for your Greek sailing holiday is Santorini. You will find Santorini in the southern Aegean sea, characterised by beautiful white houses with blue dome roofs. High up in the cliffs, these houses welcome holidaymakers from miles around.

Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, and also one of the most popular! The best ports to dock at to take advantage of the many cultural attractions on offer here are Heraklion and Chania.

If you want to party, you should head over to Mykonos, also located in the Aegean sea. The wide selection of bars here welcome tourists who love to take advantage of a vibrant nightlife. The sensational sunsets only add to the magic of this island.

Aside from exploration, water sports are also a great way to spend your Greek sailing holiday. Submerge yourself in the sparkling seas for a snorkelling or scuba diving adventure, that will leave you stunned at the rich marine life. If scuba diving and snorkelling don’t appeal to you, you can try water skiing, jet skiing or surfing instead.

How much does a sailing holiday in Greece cost?

There are many different factors that can affect the price of your nautical adventure, such as the season, how long you’re sailing for, and the size, comfort and amenities of your chosen vessel. Experienced sailors with a sailing licence have the option of hiring a bareboat, instead of hiring with a skipper, but on many larger boats, you won’t have this option, as a skipper greatly reduces the risk of damage to the boat. For an even more luxurious trip, opt for a crewed hire, which will ensure that you don’t have to lift a finger throughout.

Generally speaking, a cruise on a catamaran will cost around £3360 per week in low season, or £8320 per week in high season, whereas a cruise in a sailboat will cost around £1260 per week in low season or £2100 per week in high season.

Best time for a cruise in Greece

Due to the Mediterranean climate, we recommend sailing in Greece during the summer months. The Greek islands are very popular during high season, so for a relaxing trip, choose to set sail in May, June, September and October.
