I then used chatgpt to enter the year, make, amd model of the boat with our precise route and asked it to calculate approximate total fuel burn at various speeds. Based on the engines it gave me an approximation which was €700-1000 approximately as weight/ sea condition can influence. Then Jocelyne asked for €1700 for fuel. Ok… I’m not crew, and I don’t work on this boat daily; however, now you have my attention. We paid the full requested price for the fuel as they would not allow us on if we didn’t. They said “we’ll reimburse you if we spend less to refuel” I clocked the fuel on start 95% (1300 total) = 1235 liters I clocked the fuel at the end 55% (1300 total) = 715 liters Total burn = 520 liters x €2 per liter here average in the Antibes/ St Tropez = €1040. It’s not about the money. It’s about the principal. Would recommend that you deal with another management company.
