Don’t rent from Mario, it’s a nice boat but he is only looking to make money! He sends us out onto the sea by suggesting to go to Salinas or Ibiza town, not informing us in any way or even asking us about our plans. You rent the boat from 9 am till 7 pm but he lets you leave without enough fuel for the day. So we ran out of fuel. When we called him he was really annoyed saying we went too far. He literally said enjoy the rest of your day, I will bring you some gasoline at 6:30 pm. In other words he wanted to leave us floating around for almost 5 hours! This is not how you deal with people that are stranded. When we asked him to help us earlier he was willing to come to us when we would pay him 250 euro rescue money. Leaving us no other choice he brought us a new tank of gasoline 2 hours later. He then even said if I had known you would go this far I would have given you a second tank. Note: we went to Es Vedra and back and were in the Blue Marlin bay. It is not that we visited Formentera or wanted to go around Ibiza or anything like that. When refueled he asked us to sail a little out of the way waiting for him to weigh our anchor. Just a minute later he texted “You don't have anchor anymore. Enjoy the rest of the day, see you at the port.” When we arrived at the port and settled the day he charged us 50 for the gasoline, 250 for the rescue and 100 for the anchor. As the 250 euro already was way out of proportion or just completely unnecessary if he had communicated properly with us at the start of the day, we were in no means willing to pay another extra 100 for an anchor he left behind. We had a heated discussion and when we stated that it was just a mean way to make money he withdrew the 100. Nevertheless we feel ripped off. When you willingly send out non professional skippers without enough gasoline and scare them to leave them be unless you pay a large amount of “rescue money” you’re not in it for the love of sailing but just to make easy money! We would certainly not recommend renting a boat with him.
