Without License charter in Kefalonia · Vip 460 (2002)

I am sailing a boat at home for 40 years and the instructor only had :-( comments on my sailing skills. All other things were very positive and i would recomment yellow boats.

Everything was great!

We reserved and paid online but there seemed to be no way for the local person to confirm payment other than me logging into my credit card account and screenshotting the transaction and then texting to her. A little frustrating and time consuming. This took 15 minutes to sort out. Next, all of the people renting a boat needed to do a “lesson” about driving and anchoring the boat. Understandably, this must occur, however all 6 drivers, some with apparently no boating experience were taken on the same boat and each needed to drive forward, reverse and practice anchoring while our families waited at the dock. This took 55 minutes. By the time we were actually leaving on the boat, it was after 11 AM so the rental was not really from 10-5, but 11-5. The boat we had was the oldest of their fleet and the least comfortably equipped for seating and lounging. The throttle did not reliably click into neutral from reverse making precision anchoring more difficult and often would not actually reverse until it was full throttle reverse. Again, not ideal. Finally, our fuel charge was €30 for 20L of fuel allegedly used. When I questioned the amount for our distance in such a small, slow boat with a 20 HP engine, I was told it was “the wind.” I’m suspicious. Boulevard Boats is a local competitor to check out.
