A few things went wrong when renting the houseboat: 1. The email with the check-in details reached us much too late. It was very difficult to find out where we needed to go. We had neither the exact address nor a contact telephone number. 2. We were charged another €719 when we returned the boat. It mainly carries diesel fuel. 3. I had actually rented another boat called ALARIC. I was told at Click&Boat that this boat had become available by chance and that we were very lucky and would get a special price. Instead we got the very old RUBIA. And it wasn't the case that everything was rented out, as the gentleman from click and boat described, but there were about 30 houseboats standing around on the day of collection - in the middle of the week. 4. I tried for a long time to get a boat with a tarpaulin. Because in the summer in the south of France the sun beats down mercilessly, but the lady wouldn't budge. She said that a tarpaulin is impractical because you have to drive through so many low bridges. This answer annoys me. A tarpaulin can be folded away. That's quick. An estimated 90 percent of all available boats in the base have a tarpaulin. A smaller boat would have been fine too. There are only seven of us. But as I said. The lady wouldn't budge. Instead we fiddle around with a small parasol that we have to hold on to all the time because of the wind. We pay almost €5000 for the ten days. I think I could expect more customer friendliness, can't you? 5. We got big duvets, even though none of us are in the habit of sleeping under a blanket with someone else. There are no couples in our group either, just four teenagers and three adults. The blankets are too big and too warm. In the end, I didn't have a duvet cover left for the duvet, nor a sheet. 6. we only got one towel per person. That's too little for ten days' rental. I think it would be fair if you refunded me 25% of the charter. Even after deducting 25%, the price would still be too high for what we got, but it would be a little bit fair.
