I think the basic issue was a failure of communication lost in translation. I requested an RIB boat for 2 people and the use of a captain. However, when Rodolfo arrived (20-30minutes late) he said the price he had quoted me was just for the boat. So, then we had to wait another 20 minutes for a young man to show up to be our captain, after agreeing to pay the captain another 100 Euros separately. Also, the boat was not an RIB but a hard bodied "run about". It worked ok, but needed some repairs of the railings. The young man who was the captain had very little English, so we didn't really receive a tour with much in the way of explanations. I try very hard not to be an "ugly American," and I didn't mind paying the young man an additional fee for his services; however, when I pay for a boat tour I expect to have someone show us points of interest and be able to explain background information. Also, in my communications with Rodolfo, I asked a couple times about the cost of fuel and whether that was included in the price quoted, I never received an answer. (Luckily, I was never charged anything for the fuel.) I think it would be helpful on Click and Boat if some sort of standard checklist (easily translated) was provided when filling out requests for types of boat, need for a captain, cost of fuel, English speaking guides, etc. That way both parties in the agreement would know exactly what is being requested and what each element costs.
