I have never had a worse experience. The landlord let us out with this boat in very difficult sea conditions. We struggled between 40 cm high waves already in the morning, 10 am. We were unable to anchor in any cove of Favignana because the anchor was small and did not hold the boat, given the strong current and the wind. A gentleman helped us by getting us attached to his big boat. I called asking for an explanation and was told it was "normal" considering the high seas. But normal what ?! What would you let us go out with a 5-meter boat with high sea and no suitable anchor !? On our return the sea had become impassable for us. Waves of 50 cm and 9 knots. We took on the water and fought with the waves trying to return. In the end we didn't feel it and called for help. We were treated very badly. They told us it was our problem and that we would have to pay for an extra day on the boat if we didn't return. At most they came to tow us for the modest sum of 70 euros or more. When I threatened to call the coast guard, they offered another alternative: leave the boat in Favignana and return to our own business by hydrofoil or ferry. We did and luckily I'm home now.
