Description of Lucas's houseboat
Houseboat Nautikhus - Namitz Hns
Enjoy idyllic hours and magical moments on the water, independent and far removed from everyday life, on our heated houseboat. The island of Töplitz is surrounded by the waters of the [**#**] and is located 6 km from the flower town of Werder. Potsdam is 10 km away, and the center of Berlin is 40 km away. The [**#**] is equipped with two berths, a toilet and shower, and a saloon with a galley. A 10 m² covered terrace at the bow with a lounge set invites you to relax. Depending on the weather, the saloon can be enlarged with the awning, providing optimal wind and weather protection. There is also a narrow terrace with a bench at the stern. Our [**#**] is 10 m long and 4 m wide. This provides a comfortable interior space and makes it easy to maneuver in harbors and locks. The [**#**] is equipped with two berths, a toilet and shower, and a saloon with a galley. Just outside Berlin, the Potsdam and Brandenburg lakes offer approximately 200 km of navigable waterways for recreational boats, providing excellent conditions for a boating holiday. The Lower [**#**] connects over 40 lakes along its route between Berlin, Potsdam, and the city of Brandenburg. Where else are UNESCO World Heritage sites and unspoiled nature so close together? Our houseboat can be booked with a German Inland Waterways License (SBF Binnen) during peak season for stays of 7 nights or more (otherwise 5 nights or more). Boat instruction costs €50 for first-time houseboaters. If you do not have a recreational boating license, you can receive theoretical and practical instruction on how to operate our houseboat before setting off. The charter license entitles you to navigate the designated charter license area from the Glienicke Bridge downstream to the Göttinsee on the Sacrow-Paretz Canal for the duration of your rental. The charter license course lasts approximately 3 hours and costs €110 (and includes the boat briefing for houseboat novices, which costs €50). If wind speeds exceeding force 5 on the Beaufort scale are expected, a harbor may no longer be left, or the next harbor must be reached immediately. The most important river in Brandenburg is the [**#**], which rises north of Berlin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, then meanders gently south and northwest before flowing into the Elbe near [**#**]berg. This river connects Brandenburg/[**#**], Potsdam, and Berlin and is the heavily used waterway to the north, leading to Lake Müritz, the Mecklenburg Lake District, and Schwerin.

Overall rating
We received a warm welcome from Kerstin and André, who explained the boat to us and helped us settle in. Unfortunately, due to the strong waves and our lack of experience, it wasn't possible to go out on the houseboat, but André provided us with a small boat. This was perfectly adequate for us to explore the surrounding waterways. We jumped into the water from the boat... simply wonderful. We could always call if we had any questions or problems... Thanks again to André for the great time! It was a wonderful vacation with lots of relaxation, swimming in the warm waters of the Havel, and lots of fun! We'll definitely be back!
Communication with the contact person on site was great and we were reachable by phone at any time. The instructions on how to use the houseboat were very detailed. The charter license instructions were excellent and included maneuver practice. We would rent the houseboat again at any time.
The contact person on site was determined to prevent us from setting off on the houseboat. Apparently there was too much wind on the first day for the training, then he said we would have more fun with a small boat or asked if we were even up to it. Very annoying. You rent a houseboat to use it as such and not to moor on the jetty under the motorway bridge.
I rented the houseboat for 4 days. I didn't realise that I had to get a charter licence on site. This cost around €100 and limited the fun by, for example, limiting the areas in which you could drive. This wasn't clear enough when booking. Mooring to a facility or similar was not allowed and is actually hardly possible. You need a dinghy to get on land. This costs €120. A flat rate of €105 was charged for the final cleaning. The price of petrol was €2.40 for three days and €100. Bed linen and towels were not included in the price at €60 for 3 or 4 people. A deposit of €1500 was not automatically refunded after a week. It was only when I asked about it that they responded. Only €1450 was to be refunded because the normal household waste in rubbish bags (3-4) was not disposed of. They were stored in the utility room. You have to come up with that idea first!!! Overall, the experience was somewhat spoiled by the constant discussion about costs. There is also someone on site who takes care of guests, who seems very tense and has an unpleasant communication style. I would not recommend it to anyone. The houseboat has been rented out for a year when asked. However, for whatever reason, there is only one review here on this platform.
The overall package fully met our expectations. We can recommend this way of renting a houseboat at any time. The entire team was very friendly and helpful at all times. Thank you.
