Rent a without license in Cala Gonone · Joker Boat 470 (2017)

(me and my boyfriend rented a boat without a skipper) Unfortunately, our boat rental experience was deeply disappointing and riddled with issues. Although we initially rented the boat for the 8:00-18:00 time slot, we were gradually informed that the return time was reduced first to 17:00, then to 16:30, and finally to 16:00, under the pretext of bad weather. However, the reality was that the weather was excellent all day, and other similar boats from different companies stayed on the water until the originally agreed time, 18:00. The technical issues we encountered onboard severely impacted our experience and created significant discomfort. Firstly, the boat’s anchor was completely inadequate for the size and weight of the vessel, unable to hold it in place despite following all the provided instructions. We noticed this after comparing with other boats of similar size that had no such problems in the same conditions. Secondly, the engine was faulty from the start. Each time we stopped the engine, we had to try several times to get it going again, which caused a lot of panic. At one point, we were too afraid to stop the engine for fear it wouldn’t restart, potentially leading us to crash into rocks. We immediately reported all these issues via WhatsApp, but the team did absolutely nothing to help resolve the situation or offer any support. They only responded quickly and repeatedly apologized. The attitude of those in charge was unprofessional and disrespectful. After bringing these issues to their attention, we were completely ignored – our WhatsApp messages were seen with no reply, and when we attempted to discuss the situation face to face, we were met with indifference as they literally turned their backs on us. I strongly recommend AVOIDING the rental of boat **15/5** for the sake of anyone looking for a safe and pleasant experience on the water. Despite having video evidence and correspondence that clearly shows the technical shortcomings and lack of professionalism, we were not offered any compensation for the discomfort and risks we were exposed to. We had a wonderful day with much fun and wonderful views. Definitely recommend. Unfortunately our boat was in need to repair. Flaps, grab handles and the latter were damaged.

Great service, boat was in great conditions. Quick and friendly check in. The only negative thing was that we booked the boat from 9am-5pm and were told to be back by 3.30pm. So an initial 1.5hrs lost from a fairly dear rental.

This was an absolutely amazing experience, the company was very easy to communicate with and the trip was very laidback. Mateo was an awesome skipper and well worth the extra cost to have him take us around for the day. Beautiful water. Not too too crowded in May. Can’t recommend this company and this experience enough. If I were to leave a minor recommendation it would just be to remind the customer that they will be paying for gas at the end of the ride. No problem at all, just a little reminder may be helpful!

Easy and well organised way to spend a fantastic day.

Easy to locate the pick up spot (the staff will message you days before the tour for the exact meet up location). Nothing to complain about the boat really. Might have much more freedom if you're the skipper yourself. But if you're hire for skipper, it's like you hire a taxi but they're in control of everything... sort of... (e.g. if you're hiring skipper they will plan out the whole trip for you. Unless you have a solid plan to counter the skipper. Otherwise they quite being assertive (at least that what we experienced)

The rental is definitely recommended - amazing day, beautiful beaches, great boat and support. The only note is the miscommunication at reception, where it was expected to get the boat from Laura herself and in the end we had to ask around to find out it was consorzio noleggiaotori who was handling the rental. A contract needs to be filled out and signed on the spot and takes a while due to a big queue that starts very early (we arrived before 8:30 and only by 9:30 we were on the boat). In the end of the rental, you also need to wait on a queue inside the boat for the gas tank to be filled up (this took us 30 minutes).

The boat was fine, though a little old, the rubber around the two handles was very perished for example. The welcome at the box to do the paperwork was fine, but the introduction to the boat operation was rather rushed, focussing really on the operation of the engine which was fine. However, it was only after he had gone we realised we did not know where the anchor was for example, and the use of the ladder was not explained. Maybe obvious to most, but this was a first hire of this sort of boat for us. We did work it all out though. The rules about anchoring near the bays was explained well at the box as most have blocked off areas for swimming. The boat did handle well though the engine did not like to be pushed (started to overtemp alarm at one point - just switched off for a couple of minutes then went on fine at much more leisurely pace). At a normal cruising speed there was no problem. The boat is advertised with a canopy - but we did not use it as the weather forecast was windy and we were advised not to, so we cannot comment on that. The wind actually was not much of a problem despite the forecast, the high cliffs of the coast gave good protection. In this the advice of the owner was correct as we did have a bit of a worry. Overall a good experience.

and a catamaran came to rescue us and called the emergency number but also got no response. Their captain towed us to their catamaran and he came aboard and tried again and again and again to get the engine restarted. Eventually it fired and he told us to return immediately very slowly hugging the coast to Cala Gonone. We could not stop to swim and were terrified that the engine would cut out again when he told us to call the coast guard. When we got back around 3 so 2 hours early to the harbour some boys aggressively took us to get refuelled - we explained that the engine had stopped, that a catamaran had rescued us and we would not pay foe the fuel and wanted to speak to a manager. The Italian staff were extremely threatening and aggressive and I asked for the police to be called. They made me climb out of the boat by the re fuelling pump which was high to climb onto the dock and thoroughly unsafe. I am 69 and my husband is 74 and we had looked forward to this trip since booking months ago. The staff at the office were unhelpful, rude and insinuated that we were not telling the truth as the engine was going again. Of course we would not make up such a frightening story. The police came and took our details and assured us that boat 155 would be checked before it was given to other renters. It was a terrible experience - instead of apologising for the incident and not answering the emergency number we had been given to ring on the rental paperwork a girl said we should be grateful we had a nice time until 2 when the engine broke down. DO NOT THIS COMPANY - they were demanding money with menaces from us at the dock and the entire experience was a ruination ofmour holiday. Barbara Cooper

Overall it’s was okay, the delivery of the boat was complicated, and to refill the gas at the end as very weird, the guy at the boat literally looked at the tank and told me a price 😅, it was a good experience either way.

We rented Jocker boat in Cala Gonone and had brilliant experience. All instructions how to use the boat and where to go was very clear and staff was friendly. It is very much worth to hire a boat in this area as you can access lots of beaches which are only accessible by water and swim in any part of the coast line which is absolutely stunning!

Do not recommend renting from here at all. We arrived at 10h only got in the water at 11h. First problem started at the check in, because a higher family appeared, staff just ask us to wait aside and checked them first. There was no boat with roof, even though it's what's in the booking pictures. I was told "it is not specified in the add that there is a roof". It's like you rent a Ford Focus on Europcar and they give you one with no seats, but it should be okay because "it's not specified". Unfriendly staff, incredibly lazy, will leave you waiting for 40min at the end to refuel. Beware, they will tell you that the gas station has a big line and to just evaluate how much gas you used and just pay for it. They will try to rip you off as you see from ne of the reviews at the end. The shittiest service I have ever encountered and I consider myself pretty easy going

Summary: 1. Boat was good, nothing out of the ordinary. 2. Exceptional was the beauty of the landscape. 3. in Italy you are allowed to have a boat with 40hp without license and can roam free in the open waters and around beaches. 4. You can visit some of the beaches only by boat so use opportunity 5. Get some extra ice right at the Harbour for the provided cooling box to ensure real cold drinks. 6. You have to wait some time when you return 30-45 minutes.

I booked on short term for a highly booked day and the feedback was quick with the alternative option to book a boat without a sundeck; communication was perfect and the daytrip as well!

A bit older but certainly worth the money. Gasoline was expensive in personal opinion (41€ for 22L), when we just sailed 3h, 22L feels much.

I'm giving it one star because I can't give it a zero. We waited almost an hour for the boat to be delivered (as of September 21st). When they did, it turned out to be a super unstable boat with too much power for its ridiculous size, so it kept rising and felt dangerous (we've taken other boats of this type before, and this never happened to us). It rose so much that water was coming in from behind and our belongings were soaked. They didn't warn us at any point that the sea was extremely rough and very dangerous. We had to turn around because we were scared after half an hour (the rental was for 8 hours). We were at the port for 20 minutes, and no one came to pick us up, nor did they answer the phone. Anything could have happened to us before we were stuck there. They wouldn't refund us a cent even though we had insurance that covered cancellation due to unfavorable sea or weather conditions, saying it had to be done before we boarded the boat (no one warned us that the sea conditions were like that). In short, we wasted the entire day, we were scared, it was dangerous, and they never took responsibility. As long as they get the money, they don't care if something happens to their customers. SCAMMERS

The booking and handover went smoothly. We felt very well looked after by the really friendly staff. Since we returned a little earlier than planned, unfortunately, they didn't stick to the agreement that we would be picked up BEFORE the port. Instead, they asked us to drive INTO the port ourselves without any further information. So we stood in the port with relatively heavy traffic, waiting for our designated employee. Despite all of this, it was great; we can recommend it with a clear conscience and would book it again anytime! ?

All in all, we were very satisfied. After prior consultation and clarification, our four-legged friend was allowed on board, and the training was quick and uncomplicated. We had a blast on the boat and really enjoyed the privilege of being alone. We definitely recommend it and would book it again if the opportunity arises.

Everything worked out perfectly. The only thing that bothered us a little was the time. The offer said that you could rent the boat from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In the communication, it said that in October it would be until 4:30 p.m. On site, they said "please be back by 4 p.m." The boat boy then said "so 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. would be ideal." So we set off at 9 a.m. and were at the waiting point at 3:30 p.m. Actually 6:30 hours instead of the 9 hours offered. The description should be adjusted. Otherwise, a great experience! Thank you ?

The boat and the communication on site were good. However, we had been told days in advance that the weather on the day we wanted to book was not likely to be good. According to several websites, however, the weather was supposed to be good. This meant that we only received confirmation that the boat was allowed to sail at 9 a.m. on the day of booking - and we still had to arrive. We also had to return it at 4:30 p.m. instead of 5:30 p.m. as stated in the advert. The rental time was thus reduced from 8 or 9 hours to 5.5 hours - but the price remained the same, of course, even when we asked. For your information: We drove to Cala Goliritze and back, mostly at half or 3/4 throttle, and only had to pay €25 for the fuel.

The boat was in a poor state of maintenance. Unfortunately, we didn't notice this straight away because we were driven out of the harbor by an employee and there was little space on the boat. When we took over the helm, we were supposed to drive straight out of the harbor area. Because of the many boats leaving and the sights, our attention was focused on other things before we noticed the defects. The steering wheel was only attached by two screws, so there was a concern that it would be completely torn off and held in our hands while driving. Since this is a safety-relevant part, this is to be classified as gross negligence. The screws on the ladder were loose on one side of the hinge, so there was an increased risk of injury due to the 1cm protruding screws (there were children on board). One of the two hinges on the luggage compartment cover was completely loose. Unfortunately, the employee at the boat handover reacted quite abusively and insultingly when the defects were pointed out to him. "Stubido" was easy to understand even without any knowledge of Italian. One positive aspect is that we were contacted in advance via WhatsApp with a transfer recommendation for arrival and reception. We were also informed in advance that there might be a longer waiting time when picking up the boat due to the busy port. We therefore agreed to a shortened rental period from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. without any concessions in price. This deviates from the actual contractual rental period of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nevertheless, there was a waiting time of 1 hour before the boat could be handed back. Last but not least, the fuel consumption was estimated by looking into the tank, so another €80 for 35 liters was added to the rental price. The tourist tax of €3 per person for the beaches to be visited was also not mentioned in the ad. Unfortunately, this overshadowed the experience of the wonderful natural backdrop with a boat that you can steer yourself. So we do not recommend this tour to anyone and will not repeat it!

Very nice program, everything went well! The barbarian ship. The only thing they gave us was a location for the exit, we stood in line and it turned out to be somewhere else, but then everything was perfect. They lent us a refrigerator which was key for the hot day.

The organization of the reception was unacceptable, we arrived at 9:30 a.m. and we had to wait and only got the boat at 11:20 a.m. even though we had already made the online payment and reservation!!!!

Had a lovely day on the water. The boat is really fun. We were in Cala Golorize and stopped at all the grottos on the way back and still only paid €31 for the tank. You just have to be careful not to drop anchor in rocky areas, as ours got stuck once and we had to dive to free it.

The only drawback of the boat has been that the stairs are quite uncomfortable and the awning was broken and we have not been able to enjoy the shade of the awning. Totally recommendable experience, paradisiacal beaches and coves, accessible only by boat, the color of the spectacular turquoise water, the 40cv engine very little consumption, all day just 10 liters. When you arrive for checkin a bit of chaos and you have to wait half an hour due to the large influx of people, when you return the boat another half hour to refuel for the same reason, otherwise very friendly staff, they explain everything to you making things easier, our boatman was Bruno, a very nice and pleasant 18-year-old. To repeat without a doubt.

We arrived at the pick-up point for the boat at 9:00 AM and we couldn't leave until 10:45 AM due to the queue, although we had already made and paid for the reservation. In the reservation he told us that we could park for free in the port and that did not happen, we had to park far from the port and pay for the blue zone of Cala Gonone. In addition, they did not let us make up the "lost time" and we had to return the boat at the same time, 17:30. When we returned at 5:30 p.m., we found another queue, which does not allow us to leave the boat since we are the ones who have to take care of filling in gasoline, and they force us to wait outside the port so that it does not get saturated. We finally lost more than two hours in total. We found it a great shame and disrespect what happened to us yesterday, we will never rent a boat with that company again.

Very good experience! We arrived at 8:30 a.m. and were able to get the boat directly. The explanations in English were clear, and the return trip went very well. The price was reasonable and the speakers were all friendly. The best way to make the creeks and enjoy the landscapes!

Everything worked out wonderfully. Due to bad weather and strong winds, we were even able to postpone the boat tour twice without any problems. It was a lot of fun! The boat went off well and the lonely beaches and bays that you can reach are very cool! ANY TIME!!!

A unique experience. Magnificent trip along the Sardinian coast from cala gonone to cala golorize, passing through cala luna, the grotta del bue morning and cala sisine among the most famous. Wonderful day of sun and sea. The dinghy was in excellent condition, easy to drive and if you do not give too much throttle, it consumes little gas. The staff at check-in and at the berth were friendly and nice. Recommended in all respects.

In Cala Gonone they have a well-organized tourist trap and this option is one more. A small gommone with little power. The people in charge lack attention and kindness. The best, the views although the area is quite collapsed.

Everything was great. The staff at the port were very kind. The problem, however, was to order the ship. We ordered a boat with a roof, but we got a ship without a roof. The staff tried to help us as much as possible. But the problem was somewhere in the system that did not register the roof.

The super nice and very nice girls, the incredible experience. The perfect boat all very well. It was the first time we did it. We will repeat insurance.
