The Gib Sea 116s are perfect large cruisers for those looking for a spacious and inexpensive charter sailboat. They can accommodate up to 10 people and are armed for, however, they are more suited to navigation with 8 crew. Their interior is spacious and voluminous which offers a certain comfort at anchor. We have 4 of them, which is ideal for your group outings to develop your competitive spirit! The electrical circuits of the 4 units have been redone and equipped with a battery charger and 220 V sockets in the aft cabins, the saloon and the navigation area. Upon presentation of the duly completed logbook, after your return, we will reimburse the share of VAT corresponding to the pro-rata time spent outside EC waters if you spend more than 50% of the time of your cruise in non-EC waters. The boat was clean and functioning upon arrival. The boat and sails are of certain age so do not expect fast sailing. The boat has 10 berths which does not often happen for a boat that size. Value for money is okay

No problem in itself, but the boat is in its original condition, a bit dirty. We had a lot of difficulty communicating with Marc, though – I got my deposit back several months late.
CHARTER JUNE 2025 CAUTION: BOAT WITH DANGEROUS FITTINGS. Mainsail: 8 of the twenty or so sliders are missing, which greatly weakens the mainsail in the event of a gale. The boom restraint (downhaul) is also missing, which is also dangerous in the stabilizers and limits sail trim. The shelf supposed to hold the onboard electronic charts was empty of charts. Be careful, there is a very poor connection to the port, which prevents anything from being charged. In case of night sailing, the external compass is incomplete. The lighting system is defective. The navigation lights at the masthead are also defective. Finally, 3 weeks after returning the sailboat, the deposit has still not been refunded. The VAT for the stay in English waters has also not been refunded. We sent an email reporting our findings to Marc Lepesqueux, which received no response. The same goes for our follow-ups by phone or text message. There's a blatant lack of professionalism at this charter company. It's a shame because this sailboat remains comfortable.
Old boat but in good condition, good engine and rigging + sail + spinnaker adapted to local sea conditions (reefs in place) + everything necessary is on board. Good value for money and location of Diélette ideal for reaching Guernsey in 4/5 hours with NW wind; Thank you. Th.G.

The Gibsea 116 Marc are not very young and we feel in some parts of the boat like the cart of GV, or the GPS a little defective ... nevertheless they hold very well the sea, even by 39 knots and 4 meters hollow , and the value for money is very good. The interior of the boat is functional and comfortable. Thanks to Marc and his team for their easy and fast communication!
It is an old boat but I did not have to complain except for some sealing issues. The rig was ok, the engine like new, the equipment well present and the reception team very nice!
