We had a lovely day with our skipper, Manuel, who was very knowledgeable about just about everything--muscles, La Spezia, the Cinque Terre, fish, where dolphins swim, park rules, etc. He took our group of 10 (ranging from age 10 to 76) to Portovenere, where we had about an hour to explore, then showed us the Cinque Terre, with a stop to swim near Vernazza. Our boat was too large to disembark at one of the 5 towns, but Portovenere was just as good to explore. The whole team was very responsive to all of my questions and made the experience easy. It was one of the pricier options we looked at, but it was worth the money for such a memorable day.
We originally requested a half day trip starting at 1.30pm but were told this was not possible so accepted the quote based on 10am-6pm. The night before we asked for a transfer from our hotel to the boat due to a rail strike and we told we would be collected at 9am so they were aware we would be leaving at 10am. On the way to the boat there was an accident on the road so I messaged to say we would be there at 10.30am and got a phone call saying they were expecting us at 1.30pm despite several written messages confirming a 10am departure. When we got there our skipper didn’t welcome us onto the boat, didn’t explain where the toilet or life jackets were, and just started the boat and left. There was no hostess despite paying for one. so after 90 minutes we had to ask for water. We were given a small plate of fruit as we departed. There was no commentary so we had to ask questions to find out the villages etc. We stopped for a swim and had to ask for lunch which was two small plates of very basic food which wasn’t even stored in the fridge. They forgot to load towels for us also. We didn’t have enough time to see all five villages. Very disappointing experience, I discussed a partial refund with the Manager but he argued with me, even though he didn’t have to pay for a hostess or provide adequate food for the 8 hour trip. Very disappointing response and disappointing day.
Alessandro was a perfect captain. Travelled slowly so we could get a good view of the villages and fast in between so not to waste time. He explained each village and point of interest and kept us all happy and entertained. Thank you!
I recently chartered this boat for my Proposal. Marco was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating with alterations and extras to do with the Proposal. I could not praise him enough. When on board, our skipper Pietro and colleague Noemi gave us 5 star service. Pietro had an abundance of knowledge on the Cinque Terre region and villages, sharing bits of information along the way. Pietro and Noemi were constantly checking in with me and advising on the best locations for the proposal. They took pictures and videos of the proposal. Would definitely recommend.
Great boat and great crew would highly recommend this trip
