Boat rental in Le Marin · Fountaine Pajot — Saba 50 (2018)

We have just returned from 11 days of sailing on a catamaran, and we have encountered a lot of malfunctions on the boat, unfortunately spoiling our cruise. This catamaran is starting to look quite old (the exterior cushions have small cigarette holes, the sails are patched up, the dinghy is damaged and there are quite a few handles missing to hold on to, the fridge drawers do not close properly…) During the entire stay, the bottom hold alarm beep did not stop ringing. We had reported it before leaving. The right rear toilets were clogged with a terrible smell the day we left. The holds under the hallway and under the bed were full of stagnant, foul-smelling water. During a navigation the ceiling of the left rear cabin collapsed on my daughter's head. My husband tried to screw the ceiling back on with a rusty bar on which he fixed a piece of cardboard so that the ceiling held (see photo) The windlass tripped constantly. We had to rent 3 moorings (3x 30€) Not to mention the dangerous moments during the maneuvers because the anchor no longer descended. There were 3 gas canisters on the boat. (A big bottle that traveled empty with us!!! and not plugged in). We were hooked up to a small tank that we changed in the middle of our cruise. We connected the 2nd small bottle. But that was not enough for our stay (11 days / 14 people) Result: no more gas the day before our return. Impossible to cook! We called the number of the rental company, and sent messages, no one answered us... The trampoline was torn and very badly repaired, our friends' son fell while stepping through it (far too dangerous) (see Photo) There was a flying Driss at the top of the mast. We asked before our departure to reinflate the annex. We were told that it was quite swollen. The sausages were completely soft. And the torn and badly sewn handles (see photo) And finally, the genoa came unstitched on the 2nd day of sailing. Forcing us to sail with a half-unrolled genoa. On our return we find that the genoa had been patched up with pieces of patches and badly repaired. And no protection at the level of the 2nd spreader (see photo). The Star Voyage rental company kept 650€ on our deposit. Star voyage is really in bad faith…
