Escapado is a hidden treasure, one of the last 40.7's to ever be made and carefully cared for whilst being lightly used she is in excellent condition and offers a very comfortable and competitive ride. She was last raced in 2016 and won the Ouistreham Trophy. She is equally capable cruising and is arguably in the best condition of any of the First 40.7's. She comfortably accommodates 8-10 people and is MCA coded to Category 2 waters meaning she is equipped to one of the highest standards. In recent years she has been used less than a handful of times for family trips in the Solent. Moored in Road Town, BVI, the boat is available from many different location everywhere in the Caribbean Sea. Please note that there is an additional charge for racing to cover additional insurance premiums and support: Boat Tuition is also available at an additional cost of £150 / day. Other things to keep in mind: - Having a captain is optional, I can provide one for you at a cost of 150€/day. - Gas is included in the price If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact me.

The Charterer booked the boat which is a Racer Cruiser and accurately described and photographed as such but wanted a family cruiser. I asked several questions before the start of the charter which were ignored. This included if they wanted a dinghy and if they were happy using an advanced racing GPS system. On arrival the charterer was not happy that there was not a dingy and not willing to make any effort to help us resolve the situation, they also complained about the lack of windlass and cockpit table which the listing clearly states are not present. we did our best to resolve the situation with a member of my team spending 5 hrs sourcing a dingy at the last minute and loading a simplified GPS system for them. Click and boat and I picked up all costs for this which were considerable. I appreciate language barriers can cause misunderstandings but I am deeply disappointed that the charterer was happy to demand items that weren't on the listing but unwilling to take any action to improve the situation or accept that they had not answered the questions needed for us to properly care for their needs. The boat was fully cleaned and photographed after the transatlantic trip so I know it was in a good state of cleanliness and repair, but admittedly given the description from the client a couple of sails weren't packed away, for this I apologise and will endeavour to do better next time. Despite a rocky start I'd hoped that considerable effort on our part had rectified all of their issues and they would have an enjoyable trip, I sent a message to the charterer on the day of departure asking them to contact me if they had any problems and heard nothing so I was unable to help when the drain filter became blocked. I remain positive that we can all learn from this experience and improve for next time.
