Boat rental in Saint-Malo · Salona — 35 (2013)
Description of Jean's sailboat
Sailboat Salona 35 10.4m
Designed for offshore sailing, this boat is very seaworthy and safe in all sea conditions. With its sleek hull, it was chosen by Les Glénans sailing school for its excellent balance of performance and comfort. Very fast, it's suitable for both racing and comfortable cruising. It's a real success for sailing. Lively, it's very responsive and maneuverable. Under power, the 30hp Yanmar engine combined with a folding three-blade propeller ensures a cruising speed of 6 knots at 2000 rpm. The boat easily accommodates six crew members and maintains a classic layout: an aft cabin, a forward cabin, and two proper berths in the saloon. The boat is equipped for semi-offshore sailing up to 60 nautical miles from shore, allowing passage to the English coast and the Isles of Scilly. It is also equipped with an AIS transponder. All the comforts on board to accommodate up to 6 people: Shower, hot water, refrigerator, Webasto forced-air heating, sprayhood! Thanks to its rectangular portholes, the saloon and cabins are very bright. Furling genoa, mainsail with lazy bags, asymmetric spinnaker, electric windlass, gyropilot, complete electronics, dinghy with outboard motor. This boat is ideal for exploring the Channel Islands or the north coast with a draft of only 1.75m, which is rare for a 35-foot "cruising racer"... Don't hesitate to contact me for more information. A €80 cleaning deposit is required and will be refunded if the boat is left spotless! Insurance: AXA has set the deductible at €2720 per claim. Furthermore, they require the renter to provide a sworn statement of their recreational boating experience (document to be provided at the start of the rental). Serious nautical references required. Please understand that I will not be able to respond to inquiries without a completed nautical CV! In the event of a severe weather warning (BMS) in the area or inclement weather, the rental will be automatically postponed or canceled and refunded.

Overall rating
Very pleasant sailboat: well equipped, easy to handle in ports, perfectly maintained by its owner. The Salona 35 is very seaworthy and can easily reach 7 knots in light airs.
Lucky Man is a great boat, very seaworthy and safe while remaining comfortable both at sea and in port. Jean provided efficient handling, making himself available before and during the charter. All with a smile and good humor. I recommend it.
A truly perfect rental!! The boat is in perfect condition and very well equipped by its demanding and careful owners, the welcome and kindness of Jean for the very professional and precise handling,... what more can I say except that we want more! Thank you
We had a great stay in the Channel Islands on Jean's boat. Positive points: - fast boat - pleasant to sail - well equipped A few remarks: - no blankets on board, remember to bring your own - dinghy engine does not always start - genoa sometimes difficult to unroll/furl. Jean told us afterwards that it was a problem with the halyard tension. In any case, you have to anticipate the furling - Jean was not available for the final inventory, which gave rise to a bit of friction afterwards because we had not rinsed the anchor locker. The ideal would be to have a small cleaning checklist to avoid frustration that we could have easily avoided!
Lucky Man is a comfortable and well maintained boat. It allowed us to explore the Channel with great pleasure, I would be delighted to rent again.
We sailed with 6 people on the boat for 4 days with 2 nights in wild anchorages and 1 night in a port. The boat is very comfortable inside and out. It was a real pleasure to enjoy the wind (up to 20 knots of wind), the boat is practical. Furthermore, Jean is welcoming and accommodating. I recommend !
Very good stay on Jean's boat, a marine boat, comfortable and well equipped! I recommend.
A great week on a great boat, very pleasant to sail. Only glitch the windlass stopped walking on day 5 but Jean was listening.
The boat is comfortable, the fittings in good condition. We had a problem with the navigation instruments, which did not disturb our cruise in the Channel Islands. Jaen is a responsive and friendly owner. THANKS !
Great boat!
Jean's boat is great. Whether in terms of equipment or maintenance, there is nothing to complain about: everything works perfectly. Jean welcomed us perfectly and presented his boat.
Boat prepared at the top by Jean! Welcome and very pleasant exchanges with Jean and his wife. Ideal for family sailing. A great moment of navigation and a great boat!
Everything went perfectly. The boat is in perfect condition. We recommend Jean's boat.
Impeccable boat and very sailing, very warm welcome, beautiful spirit of sailors I recommend without hesitation
Excellent sailboat that this Salona 35, comfortable and efficient. Excellent condition. Super welcome from Jean, very accommodating and good advice.
Very good boat, well equipped and maintained with care. Jean, her owner, is charming and gave us the directions we needed to get under way. For the return ditto. That happiness
Very well equipped and very well maintained boat! In addition very pleasant to navigation. What happiness!
Excellent boat, perfectly balanced up to 16 knots of wind (beyond, reef essential), sails in good condition and in good shape. The asymmetrical spinnaker is a real plus. Quiet and efficient heating saved our lives in a fairly cool April.
Jean is very welcoming and very friendly. The boat is impeccable: Perfect sailing weekend on an incredible level. To recommend without hesitation.
Very pleasant boat under sail. Large cockpit.
Excellent boat, very marine and powerful. Jean and his wife are very welcoming.
Jean has a very nice boat, very marine, with a draft well adapted to the corner, and very well equipped. We spent a very good week on the Emerald Coast, the handling of the boat was easy thanks to the information given by Jean who knows his boat well. To redo!
Boat compliant and efficient
Very good contact with Jean and superb cruise ship. Unfortunately little wind for our WE but we will renew without hesitation the experience with more wind!
Boat fast and very pleasant to barrer, well equipped (equipments of nav in the cockpit but also with the foot of mat, which is very practical when one bar, computer team of openCM, but also a forced air heating that brings a true comfort ). Jean is very welcoming, friendly and very available to advise on the itineraries.
We took the opportunity to criss-cross this magnificent lake for two weeks with Jean's boat. Pleasant at the helm, an easy-to-handle sailplane and a symmetrical spinnaker to delight in the tailwind. Good fittings and quality electronics, the pleasure of sailing the premium sail! The Jean Elan 310 is equipped with quality equipment, without any frills but with everything necessary to make nice crossings in small crew (good pilot, quality batteries) and enjoy deserted moorings off season (electrical windlass, heating, dinghy with HB 4 times). If you are a small crew, enjoy a certain level of comfort but the soul of a sailor is never too far away: the Jean Elan 310 is the boat for you. A big thank you to Jean for the welcome, the wise advice and the confidence testified!
We had a great time for New Year's Eve aboard the Elan 310, comfortable and well equipped. Jean and his wife are very welcoming, accommodating and good advice on the water depending on the weather conditions of the moment.
