Description of Roland's sailboat
Sailboat V D Stadt 41 Norman 12m
We sail according to customer wishes and good seamanship. This could be a fully arranged romantic trip, accommodation for walkers, sailing lessons or navigation lessons. Book an introductory meeting so that we can discuss your wishes. Sailing ship Swaene was launched in 2001 and is a Dutch design by Van de Stadt Design. The type is a Norman 41. It is a very robust and stable aluminum ship with a lifting keel with bulb!; The heavy bulb keel makes sailing very comfortable and the lifting keel allows you to anchor or sail in shallow waters. You can sit outside in the spacious sheltered cockpit. Thanks to the deck saloon, you can also choose to enjoy the view inside when it is raining or cold. Sustainability: We sail under sail as much as possible. For light weather when there is little wind, we also have large sails on board so that we can continue sailing even when there is little wind. When the engine has to be turned on, we use environmentally friendly GTL or HVO instead of as fuel if possible. The diesel heater has been replaced by a gas heater and we heat electrically in the port. Roland is the owner of the ship Swaene and also the instructor. In his younger years he served in the merchant navy as a marine engineer. There he obtained his Major Commercial Shipping Diplomas. Roland has experience on oceans and riparian waters and is used to sailing on oceans with a catamaran and 40+ cabin sailing boats, even in less favorable conditions. Roland's passion; Introducing people to sailing. Whether this is on the ship Swaene or on the owner's own ship. I am happy to help with winter and summer preparation and provide sailing instructions at all levels. The starting point is that owners get to know their ship better and therefore enjoy their ship more. Please note that for multi-day tours, more than 4 adults and/or more than 2 children must be agreed upon

Amazing experience! Great communication before hand. We had an amazing trip and Roland was super kind and patient with our questions :)
Highly recommended! We couldn't have asked for better skippers for our first (family) sailing trip. From reliable advance planning, experience, flexible itinerary planning, and initial sailing tips to patience with our two little boys, everything was very relaxed and at the same time a great, exciting experience for both adults and children. ??☀️Thanks Roland for the time on board! We'd love to go again... PS: Everything worked out well and smoothly with Click&Boat, too...
Had a great day! We are building the same type of ship as the Swaene and had indicated to Roland that we wanted to experience the ship in advance, but were also very interested in how the Swaene was technically constructed and what we could learn from it. Roland took all the time to walk us through the entire ship, answer all questions and show us every corner. Then we went sailing. What a wonderful trip that was. We had a strong wind on the Markermeer, but both the Swaene and Roland gave a lot of peace and confidence under all circumstances. We gained a lot of inspiration and motivation to continue building our own ship.
Roland is a very personable boat owner and skipper. Communication was excellent. He answered all the stupid questions we asked and was confident in all situations at sea, exuding a calmness that was very important for my wife, who was making her first attempts at sailing. We will sail with Roland again at any time and deepen our knowledge. I recommend Roland as an absolute professional!
