Welcome to paradise on board a saliboat. Join the Bavaria 46 to discover the paradisiacal beaches of southern Brasil. We are close to Rio de Janeiro (155 km) at the Costa Verde (Green Coast). Costa Verde region is formed by 365 islands and more than 50 beaches make up one of the most famous an undeveloped bays in Brazil: Angra dos Reis's wich is caraterize by its crystal clear water and white sand. Tripulation: We are an Argentinian active cople, Richard (or Ricky) and Silvana. Richard is the capitain, he is an expertised sailor! Ricky has the Pilot license's, wich is the highest charge in sailing. He'd worked as a capitan on large cruises also as an instructor. Silvana also has a lisence for sailing (Timonel license) so she helps Richard on board and the last but not the least, she is the best Caipirñha maker! Acommodation: Bavaria boat with 48 foot long (15 meters) and 4 meter width sleeve (the widthest part of the boat) It count with a total acommodation for 6 guest: 2 rooms (capacity of 2 person per each) 2 bathrooms (1 available for guests) 1 livingroom. 1 kitchen. Big space to chilling on board Servicies: A trip away in the fresh sea air is a fantastic tonic. Our short voyages would include accommodation on board, meals, sailing instruction and a skipper as your local guide. *Our boat has plenty of ship's toys to play with such as snorkels, stand-up board and is plenty of entertainment when anchoring in a remote Brasilian blue water bays. The Island also offers wild hiking paths for people who like to discover the diversity of their beaches. On of the tours we recomended is an 8h tour to get the top of the Pico do Papagaio peak. It is the second highest peak of Ilha Grande but the one with the most amazing views of Ilha Grande and surroundings. We can offer you diverse options in trips, places to visit and activities in base on your budget and your expectations. Meeting point: We can peak up you in: 1)Shopping Piratas Angra dos Reis, 2)Abraao, Ilha Grande. 3)Porto Frade, Condominio Frade. Leanguaggue espoken: Spanish, Portugues and English (we are learning) About the Island Ilha Grande (Great Island) is so beautiful that it has been elected one of the 7 wonders of Rio de Janeiro, in 2007. Ilha Grande Island the biggest island in the region, is one of the most sought out places for diving in Brazil. Shipwrecks, coral reefs and an exuberant marine fauna are part of the itinerary for those looking forward to diving into the blue-green waters. Ones of best options are Paraty's - a nearby city (colonial style architecture) -, Gipoia or Lopez Mendes, all theses places have beautiful beaches for swimming, exuberant fauna and flora. I recently had the pleasure of sailing around Ilha Grande aboard Kaia 1 with Silvana and Roberto. It was an absolute delight! Silvana's expertise and Roberto's navigational skills (and perfect caïpirinhas) made the trip seamless and enjoyable. The boat, Kaia 1, was in impeccable condition—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Exploring the hidden gems of Ilha Grande under their guidance was a highlight. The itinerary was well-planned, taking us to stunning beaches and offering fantastic snorkeling opportunities. Safety was paramount, with clear instructions and readily available equipment. I wholeheartedly recommend this charter for an unforgettable experience.
We had a great time with Silvana and Ricardo! They are passionate and skilled sailors, excellent hosts and cooks, and overall extremely nice people with a genuine interest in their guests and concerned to offer you a good time! They took our own preferences into consideration about where to sail and what we wanted to see/discover, made sure we didn’t leave a meal hungry or unsatisfied, and made sure we felt comfortable on the boat. Would definitely recommend to book a trip :)!
Excellent journey!. We loved every minute of it and would have loved to stay overnight. Ricardo and Silvana are great hosts: Silvana, apart of being an excellent sailor, she is in every detail, taking care of us, showing how to enjoy better our day in the ship. Ricardo is not only a great Captain that knows very well the area and took us to nice and quite spots in the different islands, but he is also an amazing cook!. (you should try his grills "on board"). We will come back another time to spend a couple of days with this fantastic couple and their beautiful ship.
"A beautiful experience" My friends and I spent six excellent days aboard the Kaia, touring islands and visiting divine places. Sailing is spectacular, but doing it on a beautiful, comfortable, and spacious boat like the Kaia is even better. We especially want to highlight the kindness and good vibes of our captain, Sil, and her warm welcome. We also want to highlight the delicious and abundant breakfasts she prepared for us, which made us start the day recharged. Thank you, Sil. We're going back super happy; we really enjoyed this experience! We'll definitely see you again!
Silvana and Ricardo were lovely hosts. They both know the many anchorages around Ilha Grande perfectly. Excellent cuisine. We recommend the barbecue and the incredible handmade pasta.
