The stay at the boat was pleasant, but we had a few problems. The bed sheets were not changed when we arrived, the boat was dirty and clearly had not been cleaned since the last rental. The electrical pannel had some improvisations that led us to have problems with the shower and with the batteries. The outboard engine needs some urgent maintenance, it kept shutting off and we had trouble with the engine controls not working sometimes. The boat looks half abandoned, but the sails are in good condition and we managed to enjoy our time despite all of the problems. It's clearly overpriced. The check-in was made by a friend of the owner that didn't know the boat, one hour and a half after the 09h time. If we didn't have good sailing and maintenance skills, we would have been stuck on the anchorage with no batteries and no engine.
I rented this boat for a three day sailing trip. The communication with Nicolas was very good and warm. We found the boat, everything worked and there was a small kitchen an board. A bit old, improvised but still functional. Unfortunaly the engine had a failure on the accalerator so we had to skip the last day of sailing.
Spent a great 3 days on Nicolas' boat with the family (my wife and a child (2 years old)). There were enough safety vests, the boat was easy to handle and pleasant to drive. Unfortunately there was no good wind during the 3 days and we had to drive with the motor the whole time, but the 15 HP motor was enough to visit the bays in the area. A great experience, with a very responsive and friendly landlord! I recommend it :)
A great weekend on Nicolas' boat, which, despite its age, is very easy to handle and pleasant. A few small comfort improvements could be made (awning, thickness of the berths, etc.) but overall a great experience, with a very responsive and friendly charterer! I recommend :)
To all those who are considering renting this boat, run away. Our experience on Nicolas' boat from August 5 to 7, 2024 was catastrophic in many ways. Short summary: First day, warm welcome from Nicolas and an impeccable boat in terms of structure (impeccable cleanliness, impeccable fittings and sails). Problem: as soon as we left the port of Antibes, the engine started to fail and stop. Throughout the stay, we continued to have engine and battery problems, which prevented us from following our sailing program and above all made us waste long hours doing battery/fuel/engine tests. If we did not have good maintenance skills, we would have been stuck at anchor for the entire stay. The trip ended in Les Lérins, where, unable to restart the engine, Nicolas and his brother had to help us out and Nicolas even stayed on board for 27 hours without being able to leave (proof that it was not a case of misuse on our part). Nicolas remained very cordial throughout the trip, but when it came to discussing financial compensation for the damage we had suffered, he simply refused to discuss and ignored all of our messages and calls. Result: We are three students with a limited budget, and have just paid 500 euros for a completely dysfunctional boat. Given the many positive comments this boat has received, we imagine that we were simply unlucky and that the engine works well most of the time. We would therefore like to warn those who will read this message that Nicolas is very kind when everything is going well, but that if you are unlucky enough to have a problem... Hoping that this message can spare you what we experienced...
Nicolas was very kind, it was a magnificent and wonderful experience between Les Iles des Lerins!
Everything went very well. Great welcome
we had rented this boat in the past and rented it again this year. The welcome from Nicolas and Philippe is second to none, the boat has been significantly improved in terms of equipment and renovated. Easy to drive, perfect engine and if it is windy, raise the sails because you will enjoy pleasant navigation. See you next time!
Great welcome from Philippe and good communication also with Nicolas Very pleasant navigation, very well maintained boat, thank you
Old boat but still does the job!
Excellent weekend on this Jeanneau which is very comfortable! All the amenities were provided to us by Nicolas: tea towels, toilet paper, sheets, garbage bag, etc. Beware of the battery, which only charges when the engine is running. Thank you again for the warm welcome and for this exotic getaway.
Boat easy and pleasant to maneuver, and in very good condition considering the age of the venerable Sangria. Only the electrical circuit is a little capricious. The cockpit is a bit cramped, but the saloon is spacious for a 7m boat. We coasted for 2 days with 4 on it, without really feeling cramped. The boat is running at 5.5 knots under engine, and 3.5 knots under sail with 6 knots of wind. He must be able to climb to 5 knots with a little more wind without worry. Finally, Philippe is available and friendly.
Very good boat, responds very well and very cozy interior. Clean condition and nickel rigging. Only a few rickety candlesticks but nothing major. Very good stay, we recommend.
Despite a warm welcome from Philippe, I regret the sudden stop in communications after boarding, fortunately his brother Nicolas was present by telephone to help us. The boat conforms to the description, very pleasant and is easy to maneuver.
A problem with the dinghy that we had paid for in addition: unsuitable dinghy whose left sausage deflates. We couldn't use it! We regret having paid for it for nothing. the schedules for the return of the boat were not respected and we waited almost 50 minutes before seeing someone. Review the gv rail: its pulleys and the sheet cleat this boat deserves a good refit surprised to have waited more than 50 minutes for the check out of the boat
We had a great time. Nicolas is super nice, I recommend.
Welcome from Nicolas at the top, even more. Sangria's reputation is second to none. 3 days of nickel solo cabotage and the 15hp engine provides good comfort to get out of calm areas quickly. Will do it again
To rent with eyes closed! Regardless of Nicolas' kindness, responsiveness and altruism, his little boat is a marvel for his 50th birthday... ⛵️ We were welcomed (at the station and by car…it was by no means an obligation!) by a Sangria lover who knows it inside out. The boat is well thought out and equipped to the best of the best for its size (fridge, WC, deck shower, HB 15hp engine a must for calm days!!!). Sailing level it is minimum rigging but excellent condition and the Sangria has always been a good little walker so again we are enjoying ourselves! In short ... I can only recommend for the boat as much as for its owner! Good wind and thank you for these few days!
Sailing well maintained, ideal for coasting a few days in the surroundings. Thanks to Nicolas who was very responsive!
Very good experience with Nicolas, Responsive, serious, kind and accommodating. Its practical little boat that goes everywhere allows you to take full advantage of the Côte d'Azur. I fully recommend +++.
Very nice boat for a weekend outing. Good general condition, impeccable reception.
Well appointed and comfortable boat. Easy to navigate with and the owner is easily contactable for any information.
