Overall rating
The charter team were very friendly and nice to work with. Check in was done with a high degree of efficiency. Our boat, while slightly on the older side, was in great working condition with very good maintenance. It sailed smoothly, and we really enjoyed the SUP and grill! We would like to make sure that others who wish to overnight at an anchorage are aware that there were no waste tanks available, so that should be taken into consideration for planning to ensure comfort of your crew when swimming. The marina was also very large, with ample space to manoeuvre in and out of the mooring.
Bibi from the base was super friendly and helpful, including with the flexible handover of the yacht. Gerald and his assistant (I forget his name) were also competent and friendly. My main criticism concerns the maintenance. There were broken lights, cables on the anchor controls were torn out, we had to tighten several shackles, the second reef came loose without us needing it, the bilge was oily, a planing strip on the mainsail's luff had come loose, the mainsheet was visibly damaged, and the saltwater pump didn't work. On the other hand, the engine was perfect, reliable, and well-maintained. Despite everything, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation on the Dufour around Malta. I can therefore recommend the rental company, but I would like to point out that a thorough checklist is used when handing over the boat so that any defects can be identified and repairs can be carried out.
