This beautiful original Viking lifeboat is really part of our family. When we finally had saved enough for the boat, a dream came true, especially for mothers (MEM, is in dutch dialect an other word for mother). And what a pleasure the MEM has already given us! We can be found on the water with every ray of sunshine. Everyone can join, dog, children, friends, family. And now you too! In the vicinity of Vinkeveen there are 15 islands where children and/or dogs can play. Divided over the 3 puddles. There are also super nice restaurants where you can go by boat, think of the boathouse, or Wander Island. Just a round trip along the many little historic pieces of small land in the water, where there is now a days plenty of recreation is already super fun. Dropping anchor and taking a dip in the beautiful clear waters is also great. Enough ingredients for a day of fun. There are plenty of alternative options for longer trips. you are in a couple of hours in Amsterdam, or on the beautiful river Vecht. We love the original character of our boat. We have no luxury cushions, no beautifully finished edges and wood. Of course we are careful and economical with the boat, but we don't have to think about it all day. Dirty feet doesn't matter, a glass of wine that falls over is easily cleaned up. Due to the high edge, small children do not fall overboard so easily and there is plenty of room to play. Due to the original operating system, the boot may not be accessible to everyone. But once you understand how it works, sailing is very easy. With the reverse gear screw you can leave the boat practically still in the water, or sail very quietly, so that you can really take in the surroundings. That is the power of the MEM. Not speed. So if you want to race over the water, this is not the most suitable choice. The original 1 cylinder engine also makes an enviably beautiful sound, but you have to speak a little louder while sailing to be able to understand each other. Above and beyond our expectations! Tamara was very accommodating and made sure we had a nice experience. The boat fit our large group comfortably and the area is very scenic.
It was a wonderful afternoon sailing with the MEM. It is very nice to meet Tamara and see the enthusiasm with her splendor the MEM. That gives just that little bit extra if you can go on the waters of Vinkeveen with this special sloop! Everything was arranged smoothly and communication was great. Tamara also gave us tips and tricks to go to or to eat / drink according to the instructions of the boat. All in all a fantastic experience with Tamara and the MEM.

Had a fantastic day on the water. Boat was very nice and spacious. With 5 men and 2 dogs there was a lot of space. Owner was very helpful and friendly. Couldn't be better!
Super nice boat. The controls take some getting used to, but you'll soon get the hang of it. Had a nice day on the water. Boat is fully equipped. Even got a nice bottle of wine with glasses. The contact with Tamara went smoothly and she always responded quickly.

Hi, ik ben Tamara – een Nederlandse vrouw met genoeg mijlen op de teller om het roer stevig in handen te houden, en jong genoeg van geest om nog steeds nieuwe horizonten te verkennen. Als ik niet aan het werk ben, ben ik op of rond het water te vinden. Of ik ben met m’n hondjes op pad – mijn trouwe sidekicks in rust en reuring. Opgegroeid als schippersdochter vaar ik al zo lang ik me kan herinneren. De motorboot heeft weinig geheimen meer voor me, maar sinds kort heb ik ook het zeilen ontdekt. En dat brengt een heel nieuwe energie. Wat ik het fijnst vind aan varen? Het is verplicht ontspannen. Je móét wel vertragen, je blik laten dwalen, de tijd vergeten. Voeg daar een hapje, een drankje en goed gezelschap aan toe – en je hebt mijn ultieme geluksmoment. Ik verhuur mijn boot, omdat ik droom van kleine vernieuwingen en upgrades. Ze verdient het om nóg mooier te worden. En wie weet inspireert zij ook anderen om het anker te lichten en even écht los te laten.
