In short, a safe and seaworthy sailboat that combines the charm and robustness of the 1970s with competitive charter rates for an 11-meter sailboat. Very friendly host! Helped us with our sailing trip and assisted us with our vacation. Boat itself well equipped with all the gear you’ll need during your trip. We were with 4 adults and had plenty of space on board. 100% can recommend.
We had a nice Weekend on the boat! Although this is an old Lady Benas is keeping her in a good mood. Everything that is needed for sailing is in a good condition! The Systems on the boat work properly. The Original Interieur of course is a little bit old but it is working. Benas is very handsome, explained everything and answer very fast on my questions! Thank you very much.
Jean-Louis who manages the boat is very friendly and full of good advice. Cala is an old boat, and it shows, but regularly maintained with new equipment. Be careful there are not three cabins but a front cabin and a rear cabin + the central saloon. The +: .the price .the location (Ajaccio city center) .a comfortable boat upwind/good full or downwind with scissor sails .engine, annex, sails in good condition .large tau The -: .boat that rolls a lot at anchor, we got used to it and that didn't stop us from making several very beautiful anchorages (Sanguinaires, Campomoro, Porto Pollo...) .not very comfortable boat with downwind looks .three life jackets without crotch straps or tethers, the rest of the jackets being large inflatable jackets .no bearing compass for those who like to navigate by map and compass .no life raft Overall good value for money, pleasant for 4 (or 5 if one person sleeps in the saloon, but we were a little more cramped). For those who want to do long days of sailing in rough weather and/or navigate by map, take your equipment.
An old boat that sails well.
Very nice week on Cala to the Islands of Maddalena and Isola Santo Stefano. You have to help Cala and her sails with the engine under 3B. It is then not very greedy in GO if you stay around 1800 rpm. Good habitability with 5. The good chain length is reassuring... We have increased its water capacity with bottles thanks to the numerous storage spaces. Part of the fridge is difficult to access for cleaning. Thanks to Jean-Louis for his great availability. Beautiful memories of new anchorages thanks to Navily: Cala di Villamarina, Spiaggia del Cavaliere and Cala Muretta
Cala is an old but well-maintained boat that allowed us to make a beautiful 6-day cruise on the west coast of Corsica. It is very comfortable for 4 adults and its handling is easy. Despite the lack of wind during our week of sailing, a few good gusts made us appreciate her line and her behavior. Beautiful stopovers, in particular Girolata, Sagone and the cove of Liscia. Thanks to Guy and Jean Louis for their welcome.
A great week in Cala with my 4 daughters, between Ajaccio and the surroundings of Propriano! This 70s standard boat is super well equipped: set of new sails, electric windlass, lazy bag, USB sockets, solar panel, very large fridge, etc.) We were able to run the fridge non-stop for 5 days, the top ! Jean-Louis took great care of us, from start to finish, super responsive to all the little details, and thanks to him for maintaining this boat which, although old, is perfect, inside and out. And everything works perfectly (shower, toilet, equipment etc). A great quality / price ratio, I highly recommend this endearing boat that I will certainly take again if I sail around Ajaccio!
I do not recommend renting this sailboat. Very old, she is not well enough maintained to continue to be rented: fridge out of order, batteries that no longer hold, we had to release the buttons on the gas stove ... Moreover, this boat is not pleasant to steer (very heavy, not very reactive) and even less at anchor (monstrous roll even sheltered from the swell). Not to be rented.
Super welcome! AR Ajaccio / North Sardinia, the boat was perfect for our family (3 children), sailor in navigation and friendly at anchor. Impeccable engine. We take our ticket for next year :)
We were very kindly greeted by Jean Louis on our arrival, the boat is very pleasant and the aft cabin has packed the children, the only downside is the tender too small for 4 people. In summary CALA is very good value for money and we had a good time on board.
We spent 1 week aboard Cala in October. The sailboat is nice. He sails well under sail. The boat is well maintained, inside and out. Even the fairing was done. Only downside, the sails are a little aging, but Jean Louis knows how to take care of his boat and I think that will already be settled for the next ones. In short, if we come back to Ajaccio, we will find Cala with pleasure.
Very friendly welcome! The boat corresponds to the description, what more could you ask for under the Ajaccio sun. To renew!
Return from Corsica. Very good stay. A good, well-maintained boat. And above all a very helpful and competent welcome from Jean Louis. Thanks to him JL C
We rented Cala for two weeks for a cruise between Corsica and Sardinia. It was fantastic ! Cala is a sturdy boat and performs very well at sea in all types of conditions. It is comfortable and very well suited for this type of cruises. Jean Louis his owner is a really nice person, very accommodating and reactive in case of problems. I recommend without hesitation!
