boat hire in Laurium · Lagoon — 380 (2016)
Description of Jason's catamaran
Catamaran Lagoon 380 11.55m
Undisputed world champion in its category. It’s fast, easy to manoeuvre and safe, and has a legion of fans spread across the world’s oceans. S/Y ThunderCat is one of the very few Lagoon 380 catamarans that is equipped with generator and air-conditioning. It comfortably hosts 10 passengers with its 4 double cabins and 2 fore peak cabins. Provisioning: Because of the proximity to the city, yachts have fast access to additional services such as laundry, supermarket, medical facilities, banks, restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. If boat is rented with skipper - 350€ non-refundable insurance must be paid at arrival

Overall rating
Unfortunately, the yacht did not live up to its description. The air conditioning was available only on the upper deck and did not cool effectively. The generator was not working, so we had no way to use the air conditioning while offshore—even though I had paid extra for this feature. The yacht also appeared poorly maintained. The pillows were uncomfortable, the mattresses were thin and hard enough to cause back pain, and the jib unfurled unexpectedly in Beaufort 3–4 conditions, which was particularly concerning. The toilets were manual, and the Jabsco pumps barely worked. Other equipment and furnishings, including the exterior cushions, were also in poor condition. Overall, I did not receive the experience or amenities I paid for. Based on my experience, this yacht offers poor value, and I would recommend considering other options.
There are obviously bigger, faster and better equipped boats but Lagoon 380 is cosy, practical and big enough if you are looking for something less pricy.
As indicated to Fortis, these assessments are general but should be tempered: - the very annoying problem of the starboard toilets: the tank often fills up in a nauseating way in one to two hours at sea or at anchor at night! - the sustained noise generated in the starboard cabins by the cold pump Although these two permanent defects did not help to achieve a quiet and relaxing cruise, we did not ask for any compensation! On the other hand, when a misunderstanding between my daughter and Iaroslav leads to a collision of the aft skirt with the quay (which would probably not have happened if we had first secured the port line to the quay), we immediately come to a substantial deduction from the deposit!!! The one concerning the genoa seems all the more unfair to me since I had to leave my post 3 or 4 times to get him to pass the mast where it remained stuck/hooked during a change of tack. This seems to be more of a boat defect than a driving error! In these conditions, we have the feeling that the charterer-client relationship is a bit one-sided... p.s.: despite the early check-in, we were only able to leave at 3:40 pm. Best regards, Serge Ruaud
