We chartered this boat for a one-week sailing trip with family/friends, and overall, the experience on the water was enjoyable. The yacht was in decent condition, equipment worked as expected, and the route offered beautiful scenery and calm sailing. However, our experience was significantly tainted at the end by an unreasonable and disproportionate charge related to the dinghy. Upon returning the boat, we were told that one of the dinghy motor mounting ears was damaged. While we didn’t deny the issue, the way the situation was handled raised serious concerns: We were charged €650 for a replacement part that is listed at $70 on Yamaha’s official website and multiple international retailers. Even worse, the replacement part they installed was clearly used, with visible signs of prior mounting — it was not a new part, contrary to what we were charged for. We tried to discuss this with the staff, but there was no openness to review or adjust the cost based on objective data. It felt more like an arbitrary penalty than a legitimate damage repair. Bottom line: If you’re considering chartering this boat, make sure you take detailed photos and videos of the dinghy and engine at check-in, and ask for written clarity on spare part pricing and damage policies. The sailing itself was worth it, but the lack of transparency and fair dealing at the end left us disappointed and frustrated.
