Kind of Blue is an 18-meter cruising sailing yacht named after Miles Davis's famous album. The hull is by Judel/Vrolijk & Co, while the exterior and interior design are the result of a custom project based on the concept of Easy Sailing: sailing is both enjoyable and simple. Kind of Blue is a high-performance and comfortable vessel, with dinette space 35% larger than similarly sized vessels. With a 60-foot hull powered by high-performance North Sails 3D sails and a beam of 5.50 meters, Kind of Blue averages 10 knots and reaches top speeds of 12-13 knots. The furnishings were selected for maximum strength and performance. The furling-free carbon V-Boom, the true heart of the yacht, is a testament to the yacht's passion for sailing. Aboard Kind of Blue, thanks to an expert crew with extensive experience throughout the Mediterranean and overseas, the pleasure of sailing is palpable. Kind of Blue accommodates up to 4 guests in 2 cabins: a master stateroom in the bow with its own bathroom, and two double cabins with their own bathrooms. In the dinette, the fold-down table transforms the space into a comfortable sofa. Our vessel includes all the amenities to make your cruise unforgettable: air conditioning, a drone for filming, a generator, a tender, and a wine cellar for happy hour in the beautiful coves. Daily trips are valid for a maximum of 8 people, departing at 9:00 am and returning at 8:00 pm. For overnight stays and cruises, a maximum of 4 people are allowed. We spent six days aboard Kind of Blue with our family (my spouse, two young adults, and one of their companions) in August 2025. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Captain Andrea managed the boat with great skill and planned an itinerary through Sardinia and Corsica that included both lively and charming ports—such as La Maddalena, Bonifacio, and Golfo Aranci—and quiet nights at anchor. He also handled marina and restaurant reservations, which made the trip much easier, and suggested a daily sunset drink before dinner, which became a nice routine. The hostess, Camila, looked after breakfasts and light lunches. Kind of Blue is a very comfortable and safe boat. Its elegant dark blue hull and black mast and sails often drew attention in port or at anchor. We recommend Kind of Blue and Captain Andrea to anyone interested in a well-organized and memorable sailing experience.
We had an amazing time sailing in Costa Smeralda. The skipper and hostess were fantastic - super friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive. The boat itself was top notch and handled beautifully under sail. They helped us plan a great itinerary with scenic swim stops along the way. If you're looking for a boutique, personalized experience on the water, I’d definitely recommend this charter.
